New Line Television was the television production arm of the film studio of the same name. It was active for about 20 years from 1988 to 2008. History The company was founded in 1988 to produce ''Freddy's Nightmares'', a television series based on the studio's '' Nightmare on Elm Street'' film series. Andrew Brion Hogan Goddard (born February 26, 1975) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer most closely associated with the horror genre. He began his career writing episodes for the television shows ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'', ''Angel'', '' Alias'', and '' Lost''.
