Arunachal Pradesh
Arunachal Pradesh (; ) is a States and union territories of India, state in northeast India. It was formed from the North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA) region, and India declared it as a state on 20 February 1987. Itanagar is its capital and largest town. Donyi-Polo
Donyi Polo is the designation given to the indigenous religion, of animistic and shamanic type, of the Tani and other Indo-Tibetan and Sino-Tibetan peoples of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam in Northeast India. The name "Donyi-Polo" means "Sun-Moon", and was chosen for the religion in the process of its revitalisation and institutionalisation started in the 1970s in response to inroads made by Christianity and the possibility of absorption into Hinduism. The religion has developed a congregational system; hymns to be sung, composed in the Tani ritual language of shamans; a formalised philosophy-theology; and an iconography of the gods and temples. The pioneer of the revival was Talom Rukbo. Donyi-Polo is related to the Hemphu-Mukrang religion of the Karbi and the Nyezi-No of the Hruso. Talom Rukbo
Talom Rukbo (1937–2001) was the father of Donyi-Polo religion, a revivalist religious movement based in Arunachal Pradesh which attempts to reconstruct Tani ( Adi) animist spirituality. Daying Ering
Daying Ering (1929–1970) was an Indian politician from Arunachal Pradesh. He was the chairman of the Ering Commission which heavily influenced the country's panchayati raj system. He was a Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs in First Indira Gandhi ministry from 15 February 1966 to 13 March 1967. He again served as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Community Development and Cooperation in Second Indira Gandhi ministry from 18 March 1967 to 21 June 1970. Biography Ering was born in an Adi family in Runne village near Pasighat in 1929. He started his career in the Indian Frontier Administrative Service. Jarbom Gamlin (16 April 1961 – 30 November 2014) was an Indian politician and a leader of the Indian National Congress political party in Arunachal Pradesh and briefly served as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. Early life Gamlin was born in Along (now Aalo) in West Siang district to Sokjar Gamlin and Gamde Ete Gamlin. He studied in Sainik School, Goalpara in Assam and during 1976-77 he was the school captain. Ninong Ering (born 3 January 1959) is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. He represented the Arunachal East (Lok Sabha constituency) in Lok Sabha, the lower house of Indian Parliament from 2009 to 2019. Nabam Tuki (born 7 July 1964) is an Indian politician and a former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He held this position twice between 2011 and 2016. Prem Khandu Thungon (born 5 June 1946) is an Indian politician from Arunachal Pradesh. He was the first chief minister subsequent to the erstwhile North-East Frontier Agency becoming a union territory in 1972, and the first assembly elections held in 1978. As of 2023, he remains the youngest chief minister of the state.
