''RPM'' was a Canadian music magazine that published the best-performing singles chart in Canada from 1964 to 2000. In 1976, thirty-three singles reached number one on the ''RPM'' chart. The first number one single was "That's the Way (I Like It)" by KC and the Sunshine Band which reached number one in December 1975, and the last was "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)" from Scottish rock musician Rod Stewart. The Sylvers
The Sylvers were an American R&B family vocal group from Watts, Los Angeles, California. They were active during the 1970s, recording the singles "Fool's Paradise", " Boogie Fever", and " Hot Line". Prior to becoming the Sylvers, the four eldest members (Olympia, Leon, Charmaine, and James) recorded as the Little Angels, appearing on shows such as ''You Bet Your Life'' and '' Make Room for Daddy'', and opening for acts such as Johnny Mathis and Ray Charles. CHUM Chart
The CHUM Chart is a long-running Canadian hit parade countdown radio show, originally aired on Toronto radio station CHUM AM then later revived on its sister station CHUM-FM. It consisted of 50 top tunes from May 1957 to July 1968, but in August 1968, the top 50 song list was reduced to 30 top songs until the final hit parade was issued in June 1986. At the time of its retirement in 1986, it was the longest-running Top 40 chart in the world produced by an individual radio station. (It was later surpassed by Hamilton's CKOC, which produced a weekly chart for the 32-year period from 1960 to 1992.) On January 10, 1998, sister station CHUM-FM, which airs a hot adult contemporary format, revived the CHUM Chart name for a new countdown show. Rigdon Osmond Dees III (born March 14, 1950), best known as Rick Dees, is an American entertainer, radio personality, comedian, actor, and voice artist, best known for his internationally syndicated radio show '' The Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 Countdown'' and for the 1976 satirical novelty song " Disco Duck". Starland Vocal Band was an American pop band, known for " Afternoon Delight", one of the biggest-selling singles of 1976. Career The group began as Fat City, a husband/wife duo of Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert. Danoff and Nivert co-wrote the song "I Guess He'd Rather Be in Colorado" and then, with John Denver, "Take Me Home, Country Roads", which became a hit single in 1971 and became an official song of West Virginia in 2014.
