Cinema Of Telangana
Telugu cinema, also known as Tollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language, widely spoken in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Telugu cinema is based in Film Nagar, Hyderabad, India. The nickname ''Tollywood'' is a portmanteau of the words Telugu and Hollywood. By 2021, it has emerged as the largest film industry in India in terms of box-office. Since 1909, filmmaker Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu was involved in producing short films and travelling to different regions in Asia to promote film work. In 1921, he produced the silent film, '' Bhishma Pratigna'', generally considered to be the first Telugu feature film, and hence, regarded as the ''Father of Telugu cinema''. Dhulipala Seetarama Sastry
Dhulipala Sitarama Sastry (24 September 1921 – 13 April 2007), known mononymously by the surname Dhulipala, was an Indian actor and thespian, known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He was noted for playing mythological roles, particularly the role of Shakuni. He began his acting career at the young age of 13 and went on to work in about 300 films. He shot to fame with ''Bhishma'' and ''Sri Krishna Pandaveeyam'', acting alongside N. T. Rama Rao. Geetanjali (actress)
Geethanjali (1947 – 31 October 2019) was an Indian actress who worked in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi films. In an career spanning close to six decades, she featured in over 500 films across multiple languages. Her first film as a dancer is Rani Ratnaprabha in 1960. NTR introduced her to the silver screen as a heroine with his directorial debut film '' Sita Rama Kalyanam'' in 1961. She was famous for her roles in '' Murali Krishna'' (1964), '' Doctor Chakravarthy'' (1964), ''Illalu'' (1965), '' Sambarala Rambabu'' (1970), '' Kaalam Marindi'' (1972), and ''Abbayigaru Ammayigaru'' (1973). Raja Sulochana
Chittajallu Rajeevalochana (15 August 1935 – 5 March 2013), better known as Rajasulochana, was an Indian classical dancer and actress. She has acted in more than 300 Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi language films. Early life She was born on 15 August 1935 in Bezawada (now Vijayawada), in Andhra Pradesh. Her father, Pilliarchetty Bhakthavatsalam Naidu worked in Indian Railways and was transferred to Madras as PA to the General Manager of M&SM Railway. At school, her name was recorded in error as Rajasulochana. Career She learned Indian classical dance from Lalithamma, K. N. Mukkamala (actor)
Mukkamala Krishna Murthy (1920–1987), known mononymously by his surname as Mukkamala (Telugu: ముక్కామల), was a lawyer turned actor who was active in Telugu films in the 1950s and the 1960s. He was a stage actor in his student days and was popular in the role of French General Bussy in ''Bobbili Yuddham'', a stage play based on the historical Battle of Bobbili (Bobbili Yuddham). He joined the Telugu film industry in the late 1940s in Madras and played a variety of character roles in a career lasting for about 35 years. He died in 1987. Mikkilineni Radhakrishna Murthy (7 July 1914 - 23 February 2011) was an Indian actor and thespian known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He was the founder of the theater group ''Praja Natya Mandali''. He has received the honorary ''Kalaprapoorna'' from Andhra University, for his contributions towards Telugu theater and cinema. Tadepalli Lakshmi Kantha Rao (16 November 1923 – 22 March 2009) was an Indian actor and producer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. Regarded as one of the finest method actors, Rao starred in more than four hundred feature films in a variety of genres including mythological, social and folklore. He has also acted in a few Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam movies. He has produced about five films under the Hyma Films banner. In the 1960s, he was one of the primary actors in Telugu cinema, along with N. T. Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Chalam (born Simhachalam Korada) (18 May 1929 - 4 May 1989) was an Indian film actor, and producer known for his works primarily in Telugu cinema, and Telugu theatre. In 1971 he produced and acted in ''Mattilo Manikyam'' which won the Best Feature Film in Telugu at the 19th National Film Awards. In a film career spanning 30 years, Chalam was starred in about 150 films in a variety of roles. Personal life Chalam married Ramanakumari, and changed his name to Ramana Chalam. They have 3 children. Ramana Kumari died in 1964 in a fire accident. Chalam later married, to Urvasi Sharada, his co-star in her debut film, ''Tandrulu Kodukulu'' in 1972. They later divorced in 1984. Death Chalam died on 4 May 1989. Due to alcohol addication.in his final days he also suffered from depression. Babruvahana (1964 Film)
''Babruvahana'' is a 1964 Indian Telugu-language Hindu mythological film, produced by C. Jaganmohana Rao under the Sri National Art Pictures banner and directed by Samudrala Sr. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, S. Varalakshmi and Chalam, with music composed by Paamarthi. The film is based on the life of ''Babruvahana'', one of the sons of Arjuna. Plot The film begins during the time of Dvapara Yuga when Arjuna (N. T.
