Latin Grammy Awards Of 2005
The 6th Annual Latin Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium on Thursday, November 3, 2005. It was the first ceremony to be broadcast by Univision in the United States. Ivan Lins was the big winner, winning two awards, including Album of the Year. He is the first and only Brazilian and Portuguese-language artist to win Album of the Year to date. Alejandro Sanz was honored with Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Juanes won three awards including Best Rock Solo Vocal Album. Awards Winners are in bold text. Shrine Auditorium
The Shrine Auditorium is a landmark large-event venue in Los Angeles, California. It is also the headquarters of the Al Malaikah Temple, a division of the Shriners. It was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (No. 139) in 1975, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. History Opened in 1926, the current Shrine Auditorium replaced an earlier 1906 Al Malaikah Temple which had been destroyed by a fire on January 11, 1920. The fire gutted the structure in just 30 minutes, and nearly killed six firefighters in the process. In the late 1960s, the Shrine was referred to as "The Pinnacle" by the audiences of rock concerts. The Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock Solo Vocal Album was an honor presented annually at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony conducted by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences to "recognize excellence and create a wider awareness of the cultural diversity" and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. According to the category description guide for the Latin Grammy Awards of 2009, 2009 Latin Grammy Awards, the award was given to vocal rock music, rock, hard rock or Heavy metal music, metal albums containing at least 51 percent of newly recorded material. It was given to a male or female artist. The award was first presented at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2001. Intocable
Intocable ("Untouchable" in English) is an American band from Zapata, Texas that plays regional Mexican music; specializing in norteño and tejano music. Obie Bermúdez (born January 10, 1981) is a Puerto Rican people, Puerto Rican Latin pop, Salsa music, salsa singer and composer. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in New Jersey, his music is deeply influenced by his roots in both communities, infusing elements of salsa, pop, and rock. His songs have earned several accolades. ''Pafuera Telarañas'' (English: ''Out with the Spiderwebs'') is the debut album by Spanish artist Bebe. It was released in 2004 and contains six released singles along with other tracks. Composition The album was noted for its combination of musical styles, including flamenco, electronica, and pop. Reyli Barba (born April 12, 1972), most commonly known as Reyli, is a Mexican singer-songwriter. He is also a composer and has written songs for artists such as Alejandro Fernández and Beyoncé Knowles.
