Lalremsiami
Lalremsiami Hmarzote (born 30 March 2000) is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a Field hockey#Positions, forward and occasionally as a Field hockey#Positions, halfback for the India women's national field hockey team, Indian national team. At the club level, she plays for Sports Authority of India. Hmarzote was a part of the 18-member squad that represented India at the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup, 2018 World Cup. At the 2018 Asian Games, Asian Games that followed, she became the first sportsperson from Mizoram to win an Asian medal after she won silver. Early life Hmarzote was born into a family of agriculturists in Kolasib, a town approximately from Aizawl, Mizoram. Her father, Lalthansanga Zote (d. 2019), served in the Indian army and later worked as a farmer and her mother, Lalzarmawii, a homemaker. 2024 Women's Asian Champions Trophy
The 2024 Women's Asian Champions Trophy was the eighth edition of the Women's Asian Champions Trophy, a biennial field hockey tournament where the six best Asian women's national teams compete. It was organized by the Asian Hockey Federation. The edition took place in Rajgir, India, from 11 to 20 November 2024. This was the second time, and the second consecutive time India hosted the Women's Asian Champions Trophy. The hosts India were the defending champions. They defended their title by defeating China 1–0 in the final to win their third title. Japan won the bronze medal by defeating Malaysia 4–1. India Women's National Field Hockey Team
The Indian women's national field hockey team represents India in international field hockey, and is governed by Hockey India. They are ranked 9th in the world and the second best team in Asia. They have won the gold at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the 1982 Asian Games. They have also won the Asia Cup twice, in 2004 and 2017, and the Asian Champions Trophy thrice, in 2016, 2023 and 2024. History The team's breakthrough performance came at the Women's Hockey World Cup at Mandelieu in 1974, where it finished in 4th place. The 2022 Women's Hockey Asia Cup was the 10th edition of the Women's Hockey Asia Cup, the quadrennial international women's field hockey championship of Asia organized by the Asian Hockey Federation. It was held from 21 to 28 January 2022 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman. The 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup was the 14th edition of the Women's Hockey World Cup, a field hockey tournament. It was held from 21 July to 5 August 2018 at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in London, England. Defending champions the Netherlands won the tournament for an eighth time after defeating Ireland 6–0 in the final, who claimed their first World Cup medal.
