Kymi, Greece
Kymi (Greek: , ) is a coastal town and a former municipality (7,112 inhabitants in 2011) in the island of Euboea, Greece, named after an ancient Greek place of the same name. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Kymi-Aliveri, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 167.616 km2. The ancient Euboean Kyme is mentioned as a harbor town related to the more prominent ''poleis'' of Chalkis and Eretria in antiquity. Together with these, it is sometimes named as the founding ''metropolis'' of the homonymous Kymē (Cumae) in Italy, an important early Euboean colony, which was probably named after it. There are few or no archaeological traces of ancient Euboean Kyme, and its exact location is not known. A Bronze Age settlement has been excavated in nearby Mourteri. Kymi is an electoral district represented in the Finnish ''Eduskunta'' (parliament). It covers the administrative regions of South Karelia and Kymenlaakso in south-eastern Finland, with a combined population of about 322,000 (). Kymi currently elects 12 members of the ''Eduskunta''. Kymi (region)
Kymenlaakso ( sv, Kymmenedalen; "Kymi River, Kymi/Kymmene Valley") is a Regions of Finland, region in Finland. It borders the regions of Uusimaa, Päijät-Häme, Southern Savonia, South Savo and South Karelia and Russia (Leningrad Oblast). Its name means literally ''The Valley of River Kymijoki, Kymi''. Kymijoki is one of the biggest rivers in Finland with a drainage basin with 11% of the area of Finland. The city of Kotka with 51,000 inhabitants is located at the delta of River Kymi and has the most important import harbour in Finland. Other cities are Kouvola further in the inland which has after a municipal merger 81,000 inhabitants and the old bastion town Hamina. Kymi Ring
The KymiRing is a motor racing circuit in Kausala of the Iitti municipality, Päijänne Tavastia, Finland, bordering the Kymenlaakso's regional capital Kouvola, and located north-east of the capital Helsinki. It was planned that it would be the first circuit in Finland to hold an FIA Grade 1 license. While the circuit itself was built to meet both Formula 1 and MotoGP specifications, hosting a Formula 1 Grand Prix would require substantial investment in both the track's facilities and in race hosting fees. The track was officially opened on 19 August 2019 with a small MotoGP test. In July 2022, the developer was reported as being in administration. It begins at Lake Päijänne, flows through the provinces of Päijänne Tavastia, Uusimaa and Kymenlaakso and discharges into the Gulf of Finland. The river passes the towns of Heinola and Kouvola. The Kymi Province ( fi, Kymen lääni, sv, Kymmene län) was a province of Finland from 1945 to 1997. The Kymi Province was the remainder of the territory from the Viipuri Province after the main part was left to Russia at the Moscow Armistice in 1944. By the Paris Peace Treaty in 1947, territories on the Karelian Isthmus and around of the Lake Ladoga were formally ceded to the Soviet Union. In 1997, the Kymi Province was merged with the Uusimaa Province and the southern parts of the Häme Province into the new Southern Finland Province. Charlo ( Salish: sallu) is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Lake County, Montana, United States. The population was 379 at the 2010 census, down from 439 in 2000. The 2018 population estimate was 320. The town was named in 1918 after the Salish leader Chief Charlo. Previously it had been called Big Flat, Charlotte, and Tabor. Geography Charlo is located in southern Lake County at (47.440017, -114.173171), along Montana Highway 212. It is west of U.S. Route 93 and south of Polson, the county seat. Via Highway 212 it is northeast of Dixon. Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge, surrounding Ninepipe Reservoir, is east of Charlo. KJJT
KJJT (98.5 MHz) was an FM radio station licensed to Los Ybanez, Texas. History KJJT was originally known as KYMI. While this was randomly assigned by the FCC (other new stations in this group were named KYMF, KYMG, KYMH, KYMJ, KYMK, etc.) and most of these changed names before actually going into operation, KYMI stayed with the name, using the retronym of "K Ybanez Mary and Israel". The founders (of the town as well as the station) were Israel and Mary Ybanez. The station was initially on 107.9 mHz. It was moved to 98.5 as a result of changes at KADM (now KQLM) Odessa, which moved from a class C2 permit on 107.7 to a class C1 (more power, more antenna height) on 107.9. This obligated that station to move the station in Los Ybanez to a new, comparable channel, compensate them for changes in equipment, and pay to promote the changes . Kyminlinna
Kyminlinna (literally, 'the castle of Kymi') is a fortress located in the northern part of island of Hovinsaari in Kotka, on the south coast of Finland. Kyminlinna is part of the South-Eastern Finland fortification system built by Russia after the Russo-Swedish War of 1788-1790. Kyminlinna formed the northern part of a double fortification, together with Ruotsinsalmi sea fortress, where Kyminlinna was intended to repulse land-based attacks along the King's Road. Physical description Kyminlinna is a five-corner-caponier approximately in diameter. The surface area of the fortress is approximately . The fortress is surrounded by incomplete moats, which also form part of the ditch system intended to drain the grounds. There is a pond in area despite of the draining intentions.
