Kratos (God Of War)
Kratos ( grc, Kratos (mythology), Κράτος "strength"; Old Norse: Fárbauti "fierce striker") is a fictional character and the protagonist of Santa Monica Studio's God of War (franchise), ''God of War'' series, based on Greek mythology and, later, Norse mythology. He first appeared in the 2005 in video gaming, 2005 video game ''God of War (2005 video game), God of War'', which led to the development of eight additional titles featuring the character as the protagonist. Kratos also appears as the protagonist of the God of War (DC Comics), 2010 and God of War (Dark Horse Comics), 2018 comic series, as well as three novels that retell the events of three of the games. The character was voiced by Terrence C. Carson from 2005 to 2013, with Christopher Judge taking over the role in 2018's continuation, also titled ''God of War (2018 video game), God of War''. Norse, Nordic, or Scandinavian mythology is the body of myths belonging to the North Germanic peoples, stemming from Old Norse religion and continuing after the Christianization of Scandinavia, and into the Nordic folklore of the modern period. Ares
Ares (; grc, Ἄρης, ''Árēs'' ) is the Greek god of war and courage. He is one of the Twelve Olympians, and the son of Zeus and Hera. The Greeks were ambivalent towards him. He embodies the physical valor necessary for success in war but can also personify sheer brutality and bloodlust, in contrast to his sister, the armored Athena, whose martial functions include military strategy and generalship. An association with Ares endows places, objects, and other deities with a savage, dangerous, or militarized quality. Although Ares' name shows his origins as Mycenaean, his reputation for savagery was thought by some to reflect his likely origins as a Thracian deity. ''God of War: Ghost of Sparta'' is an action-adventure hack and slash video game developed by Ready at Dawn and published by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE). It was first released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld console on November 2, 2010. The game is the sixth installment in the ''God of War'' series and the fourth chronologically. ''God of War'' is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released for the PlayStation 4 in April 2018, with a Windows port in January 2022. Old Norse
