Kline is a town in Barnwell County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 197 at the 2010 census. Geography Kline is located in southern Barnwell County at (33.124363, -81.343057). U.S. Route 278 passes through the center of the town, leading north to Barnwell, the county seat, and south to Allendale. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which , or 0.81%, is water. Demographics At the 2000 census there were 238 people, 87 households, and 62 families living in the town. The population density was 76.6 people per square mile (29.5/km). There were 112 housing units at an average density of 36.1 per square mile (13.9/km). The racial makeup of the town was 26.89% White, 57.56% African American, 14.71% from other races, and 0.84% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 18.49%. USS Kline (APD-120)
USS ''Kline'' (APD-120) was a ''Crosley''-class high-speed transport in commission with the United States Navy from 1944 to 1947. She was transferred to the Republic of China Navy in 1966 and served as ROCS ''Shou Shan'' (PF-37/PF-893/PF-837) until 1997. She was finally sunk as a target in 2000. Namesake Stanley Fly Kline was born on 15 November 1901 in Graterford, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve on 2 February 1927 and began World War II active duty on 13 July 1942. During Operation Torch, the Allied amphibious landings in North Africa, on 8 November 1942, Kline was assigned to the British Royal Navy warship HMS ''Hartland'' as a member of a naval antisabotage party. As ''Hartland'' entered the harbor at Oran, Algeria, it came under heavy fire from Vichy French ships and shore batteries. Lincoln County is a county located in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2020 census, the population was 10,876, making it the fifth-least populous county in the state. Klina ( sq-definite, Klinë; Serbian Cyrillic: ) is a town and municipality located in the District of Peja of north-western Kosovo. According to the 2011 census, the town of Klina has 5,542 inhabitants, while the municipality has 38,496 inhabitants. It is located at the confluence of the river Klina into the White Drin.
