Kevin Phillips (footballer)
Kevin Mark Phillips (born 25 July 1973) is an English former professional footballer who was most recently the head coach of club AFC Fylde. A striker, Phillips started his career with Southampton but failed to make the first team and was released. He then signed for non-League side Baldock Town where he impressed, earning a move to Watford in 1994. In 1997, Phillips signed for First Division club Sunderland. In his first season he scored 35 goals in all competitions, the most goals in a season for a Sunderland player since the Second World War as well as being the league's top goalscorer. Phillips scored 23 goals in 26 league games in the following season as Sunderland were crowned champions of the First Division. He received his first call up to the England national team in 1999. Kalvin Phillips
Kalvin Mark Phillips (born 2 December 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for club Ipswich Town, on loan from Manchester City, and the England national team. An academy graduate of hometown club Leeds United, Phillips made his senior debut in 2015. In the 2019–20 season, he was a member of the Leeds team coached by Marcelo Bielsa that won the Championship. Phillips signed for Manchester City in 2022 and was part of the squad that won a continental treble of the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League in his debut season. He struggled for playing time at City, spending time on loan with West Ham United and Ipswich Town. The Premier League Golden Boot is an annual association football award presented to the leading goalscorer in the Premier League. For sponsorship purposes, it was called the Carling Golden Boot from 1994 to 2001, the Barclaycard Golden Boot from 2002 to 2004, the Barclays Golden Boot from 2005 to 2016, the Cadbury Golden Boot from 2017 to 2020, and the Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Golden Boot for 2021. The Football League First Division was the top division of the Football League in England from 1888 until the end of the 1991–92 season, when its teams broke away to form the Premier League. Non-League football describes association football, football leagues played outside the top leagues of a country. Usually, it describes leagues which are not fully professional.
