Kansas And Oklahoma Railroad
The Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad is a shortline railroad operating in the Midwestern United States. It is entirely located in Kansas and, despite its name, owns no trackage in Oklahoma. Overview The KO is a subsidiary of Watco, which took over the operations of the Central Kansas Railway (CKRY) on June 29, 2001. The CKRY property (which by this time included the merged Kansas Southwestern Railway) was purchased from OmniTRAX and named the Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad. The KO consists of trackage radiating north and west from their headquarters at Wichita, Kansas. Most of this trackage was originally operated by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe, although a few segments were originally operated by the Missouri Pacific. The tracks Kansas & Oklahoma RR operate on also includes portions of the former Missouri Pacific Kansas City to Pueblo main line in Western Kansas and Eastern Colorado. Osborne is a city in and the county seat of Osborne County, Kansas, Osborne County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population of the city was 1,335. History Settlers from southeastern Pennsylvania founded Osborne City in May 1871. They named the settlement after Vincent B. Salina, Kansas
Salina is a city in and the county seat of Saline County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 46,889. In the early 1800s, the Kanza tribal land reached eastward from the middle of the Kansas Territory. In 1858, settlers from Lawrence founded the Salina Town Company with a wagon circle, under constant threat of High Plains tribal attacks from the west. It was named for the salty Saline River. Saline County was soon organized around this township, and in 1870, Salina incorporated as a city. Towner, Colorado
Towner is a census-designated place (CDP) in and governed by Kiowa County, Colorado, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 18. It is the easternmost town in Colorado, located less than from the Kansas state line, along Colorado State Highway 96. History The community was originally known as "Memphis".
