Joseph Evans (politician)
Joseph George Evans (1837 – 5 July 1904) was a British-born Australian politician. He was born in London to salesman James Thomas Evans and Elizabeth Kinsman. The family migrated to New South Wales in 1842, and Evans was apprenticed to a watchmaker and jeweller. In 1860 he established a business in Deniliquin. Declared bankrupt in 1867, he was discharged in 1871. He married Annie Dawson in 1869; they had eight children. Evans was a Deniliquin alderman (1873–87, 1888–1901) and mayor (1875, 1881, 1882, 1886, 1899). In 1901 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the Independent Progressive member for Deniliquin Deniliquin () is a town in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia, close to the border with Victoria. Joseph T. Evans (born December 11, 1971), known professionally as Sev Statik and Stu Dent, is a hip hop musician and promoter from Albany, New York. Active as a rapper since the early 1990s, he has performed and recorded both as a solo artist and as a member of the hip hop collectives Deepspace5 and Tunnel Rats. Evans has also been a member of various Albany-area hip hop groups, including All Bully, Master Plan, Body Language, currently fronts the rap rock band Goldtooth, and is active in Pitch Control Music, a musical collective and arts movement he co-founded in order to promote and develop hip hop in the Albany area. Evans is a freemason in East Greenbush, New York. Joseph Edward Evans (18 September 1855 – 25 December 1938) was a British schoolmaster and amateur astronomer, headmaster of the Royal Hospital School in Greenwich and a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. Early and personal life Joseph Edward Evans was born in Great Coggeshall, Essex, the eldest son of Lieutenant Charles Evans who was Chief Officer of the Coastguard at Robin Hood Bay. He entered the Royal Hospital School at Greenwich in 1866 aged eleven, took a Bachelor's Degree at London University and became a teacher. He taught in Dindigul, Madras Province, in India where his three sons and eldest daughter were born. He returned to the UK in 1890, taking on various teaching posts before becoming headmaster at the Royal Hospital School in 1899 – a position he held until his retirement in 1920. Joseph Patton "Doc" Evans (May 15, 1895 – August 9, 1951) was an American professional baseball outfielder and third baseman, who played for the Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators, St. Louis Browns of Major League Baseball (MLB). Biography He was born on May 15, 1895, in Meridian, Mississippi. Evans made his major league debut with the Indians in 1915, playing 42 games for them. He spent most of with the minor league Portland Beavers, playing just 33 games for the Indians. was Evans' first as a regular, as he served as the Indians' primary third baseman. Joe Evans (born June 29, 1999) is an American professional football linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Joe Evans (October 7, 1916 – January 17, 2014) was an American jazz alto saxophonist. Early life and education Evans was born in Bonifay and grew up in Pensacola, Florida. Evans dropped out of high school and moved to New York City to pursue his music career. He later earned a GED and associate's degree from Essex County College in 1973. Through a Ford Family Foundation scholarship, he earned a Master of Education degree from Rutgers University in 1975. Career Evans was active between 1939 and 1965, playing in the big bands of Jay McShann, Jimmy Forrest and Gene Ramey; Don Redman and Louis Armstrong. In 1944 he recorded with Mary Lou Williams, as a member of a band including Coleman Hawkins, Bill Coleman and Denzil Best. At the beginning of 1945, he recorded for J.
