Johns was a community in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, United States, located north of Antlers. A United States Post Office operated there from September 28, 1912, to May 15, 1915. Johns Creek is an stream which begins in southern Forsyth County, Georgia and runs south-southwestward through the eastern part of northern Fulton County, Georgia (formerly the separate Milton County). It is a tributary of the Chattahoochee River and has no official stream gauges. The name of Johns Creek, Georgia, incorporated in late 2006, is taken from this creek that runs through the center of the new city. Name The creek's name is believed to have originated with John Rogers, one of the earliest white settlers in the area. Johns Hopkins
Johns Hopkins (May 19, 1795 – December 24, 1873) was an American merchant, investor, and philanthropist. Born on a plantation, he left his home to start a career at the age of 17, and settled in Baltimore, Maryland where he remained for most of his life. Prudent early 19th-century investments in the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O) (that eventually led to a directorship and elevation to the chairmanship), and a rise to the position of president at Baltimore's Merchants' National Bank allowed Hopkins to retire at an early age. Hopkins was a staunch supporter of Abraham Lincoln and the Union, often using his Maryland residence as a gathering place for Union strategists. He was a Quaker and supporter of the abolitionist cause, though he may have had slaves at an earlier stage of his life. ''Johns'' (styled as ''johns'') is a 1996 American drama film written and directed by Scott Silver and starring David Arquette and Lukas Haas, who portray hustlers who work Santa Monica Boulevard. Plot It's Christmas Eve and John ( David Arquette) is asleep in a Los Angeles park. He awakens as someone is stealing his shoes, in which he keeps his money. He chases the thief but can't catch him. John is angered not only because those are his "lucky" sneakers but because he's trying to accumulate enough money for an overnight stay in a fancy hotel to celebrate his birthday, which is also Christmas. Each time John puts any money together, via prostitution or stealing from clients, it's taken from him either by robbery or in payback for a drug deal where he burned the dealer.
