James Anthony McGrath (born 14 May 1974) is an Australian politician and Senator for Queensland since 2014. He is a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland and sits with the Liberal Party in federal parliament. Following his re-election in 2022, McGrath was appointed as Shadow Assistant Minister for Finance and Shadow Assistant Minister to the Leader of the Opposition. Early life McGrath was born in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. James McGrath (Canadian Politician)
James Aloysius McGrath, (January 11, 1932 – February 28, 2017) was a politician and the eighth lieutenant governor of Newfoundland, Canada. Life As a young man, McGrath was a member of the Responsible Government League which opposed Newfoundland becoming a province of Canada. Nevertheless, upon the dominion's joining confederation in 1949, McGrath left to enlist with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He returned to Newfoundland in 1953 and became sales manager with radio station CJON. In 1955, he became secretary of the provincial Progressive Conservative Party association. In 1956, he ran unsuccessfully for the party in the provincial election. James Francis McGrath
James Francis McGrath (May 23, 1859 – October 29, 1902) was a fisherman and political figure in Newfoundland. He represented Placentia and St. Mary's in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 1885 to 1894 as a Liberal. Biography James F. McGrath was born in Little Placentia, the son of Richard McGrath and Margaret Fanning. He was raised and educated in Oderin where his father was Customs Collector and Stipendary Magistrate. He received his secondary education at Saint Bonaventure's College in St.John's. McGrath began work as a fisherman operating his own boat and later owned a fishing business operating catching cod on the Grand Banks and herring. Jim McGrath (born 22 May 1955) is an English horse racing pundit and broadcaster. He was associated with Timeform from 1974 until 2009. His nickname is "The Sage of Halifax". He is well known for his onscreen relationship with John Francome on Channel 4 Racing. McGrath had an ambition to become a jockey, but after a summer at trainer Bill Marshall's yard at Whitsbury, he was advised that he wouldn't make the grade. On leaving Brunts School in Mansfield, McGrath joined publisher Timeform in 1974 "putting the glue on the cards." After five years, he became a racecourse reporter, in 2000 Managing Director and in August 2008 Chairman. Jimmy McGrath
James McGrath (4 March 1907 – 17 October 1950) was an English footballer. A speedy and crafty player, he played at left-half and on the right-wing. He began his career in 1928 at Cardiff City, before switching to Port Vale in May 1932. He was transferred to Notts County in June 1934, and later moved on to Bradford Park Avenue. Career McGrath played for Washington Colliery, before joining Cardiff City in 1928. The "Bluebirds" suffered relegation out of the First Division following a last place finish in 1928–29. They posted an eighth-place finish in the Second Division in 1929–30, before suffering another relegation in 1930–31 with another last place finish. Cardiff finished in ninth place in the Third Division South in 1931–32. In his four seasons at Ninian Park, McGrath featured in 33 league games. James McGrath (artist)
James McGrath (born in Sydney, 1969) is a contemporary Australian artist and architect. He is known for his paintings, videos and Plexiglas panels that combine Baroque spatial concepts with seventeenth century sensibility. He uses 3D cloth simulation software to visually fold different religious and mythical genres into one image. Over the last ten years, McGrath has exhibited in New York City, London, Hong Kong, Sydney and Paris. Career After graduating high school, McGrath travelled to Paris to study the techniques and principles of the sixteenth and seventeenth-century masters under the guidance of artist Patrick Betaudier. Upon returning to Australia, McGrath began work as a studio assistant to Arthur Boyd. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of New South Wales.
