Jesusita En Chihuahua (film)
''Jesusita en Chihuahua'' is a 1942 film directed and written by René Cardona. Zacarías Gómez Urquiza was assistant director. Also starring in the film are Susana Guízar, René Cardona himself and it is Pedro Infante's first starring role. This film is the first that Infante is not only credited for singing, but he sings the title song, Jesusita en Chihuahua, as well. In his previous movie however, En un burro tres baturros, Infante was cast as an extra but collaborated by singing in place of Carlos López Moctezuma. Plot Valentín Terrazas (Infante) and Felipe González (Cardona) are candidates in an election for president in a fictional town in the state of Chihuahua that involves a shoot out between the two candidates, Valentín and Felipe. Valentín is injured in the shoot out, having been shot in the left arm and Jesusita, takes Valentín to the home of Tula Tulares de Tulancingo (Roldán) and Tula's daughter, Teresa Marroquín (Cora). René Cardona
René Cardona (October 8, 1905 in Havana, Cuba – April 25, 1988, in Mexico City) was a director, actor, producer, screenwriter, and film editor in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Biography René Cardona was born in Havana, Cuba, on October 8, 1905, and began medical school in Cuba, but due to the political problems of the island, he and his family moved to New York City in 1926, where he continued his studies. Economic circumstances experienced by his family caused him to leave his studies. He befriended famous actor Rodolfo Valentino and obtained work as an extra in several films, until 1929 when he produced, wrote, directed and starred in the first Spanish-language film made in Hollywood, ''Sombras habaneras'' (''Havana Shadows''). He also had the opportunity to work in various positions in the film industry such as second assistant, technical advisor and first assistant director, and learned film and lighting technique. Susana Cora

Manuel Noriega Ruiz
Manuel "Manolo" Noriega, (June 24, 1880 – August 12, 1961) was a Spanish-born Mexican stage and film actor, screenwriter, and film director. Born Manuel Noriega Ruiz in Colombres, Spain, he worked in live theatre for many years, performing in his native Spain as well as in Mexico, Cuba and the United States. A pioneer in silent film, he made his first screen appearance in 1907. It is believed some of his early silent films have been lost, but his main body of work began in talkies in the early 1930s, performing in close to two hundred sound films. Noriega earned an Ariel Award nomination for "Best Actor in a minor role" for his performance in the 1946 film ''Pepita Jiménez''. Married to Hortensia Castañeda Avila, their daughter Carmen became a singer who married Tito Guízar.
