Jess Kirkpatrick
Jesse Bertram Kirkpatrick (October 2, 1897 – August 9, 1976) was an American film and television actor. Life and career Kirkpatrick was born in Champaign County, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois, where he played as a halfback in football in the 1920s. Kirkpatrick was named in Walter Eckersall's All-American team and in football coach Robert Zuppke’s all-time backfield. Kirkpatrick supported himself at University by playing as a jazz dummer in a student band. He was also a singer, appearing with Earl Burtnett’s orchestra in 1931, and as a singer and master of ceremonies with Harold Stokes on the WGN radio show ''Melodies from the Sky''. Kirkpatrick worked as an announcer for the radio broadcasting station WGN for ten years. Kirkpatrick moved to Hollywood, California, starting his screen career playing a broadcaster in the 1946 film ''My Dog Shep''. He also played Patrick Riley in the 1949 film '' The Judge''. Champaign County is a county in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of the 2020 census, its population was 205,865, making it the 10th-most populous county in Illinois. Its county seat is Urbana. ''The Private War of Major Benson'' is 1955 comedy film starring Charlton Heston, Julie Adams, Sal Mineo and Tim Hovey, about a tough-talking U.S. Army officer who must shape up the JROTC program at Sheridan Academy, a Catholic boys' military academy, or be forced out of the Army. The film was shot on St. Catherine's Military School campus in 1955, with cadets as the actors in all but the leading roles. Universal Pictures chose St. Catherine's cadets and location for their humorous comedy about the challenges facing the new commandant of a military school by the antics of a group of grade school cadets. Johnny Ringo
John Peters Ringo (May 3, 1850 – July 13, 1882), known as Johnny Ringo, was an American Old West outlaw loosely associated with the Cochise County Cowboys in frontier boomtown Tombstone, Arizona Territory. He took part in the Mason County War in Texas during which he committed his first murder. He was arrested and charged with murder. He was affiliated with Cochise County Sheriff Johnny Behan, Ike Clanton, and Frank Stilwell during 1881–1882. He got into a confrontation in Tombstone with Doc Holliday and was suspected by Wyatt Earp of having taken part in the attempted murder of Virgil Earp and the ambush and death of Morgan Earp. Ringo was found dead with a bullet wound to his temple which was ruled a suicide.
