The , also sometimes called ''W-10'' was a minesweeper of the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was launched on 21 December 1937 and completed in 1939. Service record The Japanese minesweeper ''W-10'', sometimes also referred to as ''No. 10'', was a minesweeper of the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was laid down on 21 December 1937 at Ishikawajima Shipbuilding, (now known as the IHI Corporation) and launched on 22 September 1938. When it was completed on 15 January 1939 it was attached to the Sasebo Naval District. On 1 June 1941 ''W-10'' was assigned to the Third Fleet, as part of MineSweepDiv 21, along with the minesweepers ''W-7, W-8, W-9, W-11'', and ''W-12''. was an OSK Line cargo and passenger steamship that was built in Japan in 1927. In 1941 the Imperial Japanese Army requisitioned her. US aircraft damaged her during the first week of the Japanese invasion of the Philippines. In 1942 she was declared a total loss. Strafing is the military practice of attacking ground targets from low-flying aircraft using aircraft-mounted automatic weapons. Seversky P-35
The Seversky P-35 is an American fighter aircraft built by the Seversky Aircraft Company in the late 1930s. A contemporary of the Hawker Hurricane and Messerschmitt Bf 109, the P-35 was the first single-seat fighter in United States Army Air Corps to feature all-metal construction, retractable landing gear, and an enclosed cockpit. Design and development The origins of the P-35 can be traced back to the Seversky SEV-3 three-seat amphibian, designed by Alexander Kartveli, Seversky's chief designer and Seversky's first aircraft. 34th Pursuit Squadron
The 34th Pursuit Squadron is an inactive United States Air Force unit. It was wiped out in the Battle of the Philippines (1941–42). The survivors fought as infantry during Battle of Bataan and after their surrender, were subjected to the Bataan Death March, although some did escape to Australia. The unit was never remanned or equipped. It was carried as an active unit until 2 April 1946. History Origins The squadron was organized at Kelly Field, Texas on 22 December 1939 and assigned to the 28th Composite Group. Activated on 1 February 1940 and equipped with P-36 Hawks for training as a part of the Air Corps buildup of forces after the outbreak of World War II in Europe.
