Jagoo Shah
Jagoo Chandrakant Shah (born 1953) is a Kenyan former first-class cricketer. Shah made a single appearance in first-class cricket for a combined East Africa cricket team against the touring Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Nairobi in 1974. Opening the batting twice in the match alongside Narendra Thakker, he was dismissed by Roger Knight for 53 runs in the East Africa first innings, and for 8 runs by John Hutton in the second. He took the wicket of David Acfield with his leg break googly bowling in the MCC first innings. Kenya Colony
The Colony and Protectorate of Kenya, commonly known as British Kenya or British East Africa, was part of the British Empire in Africa. Narendra Thakker
Narendra P. Thakker (born 1945) is a former Kenyan cricketer who played internationally for East Africa, including at the 1979 and 1982 ICC Trophies. He played as a wicket-keeper. A regular player for Kenya in regional tournaments, Thakker first played for East Africa in 1972, when he toured England and played against several county teams. He played his one and only first-class match in January 1974, against a Marylebone Cricket Club team that was returning the tour. In the match, played at Nairobi's Gymkhana Club Ground, he opened the batting with Jagoo Shah in both innings, scoring one run in the first and 22 in the second. Kenya National Cricket Team
The Kenya national cricket team represents the Republic of Kenya in international cricket. Kenya is an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) which has Twenty20 International (T20I) status after the ICC granted T20I status to all of their members. Leg spin is a type of spin bowling in cricket. A leg spinner bowls right-arm with a wrist spin action. The leg spinner's normal delivery causes the ball to spin from right to left (from the bowler's perspective) when the ball bounces on the pitch. For a right-handed batsman, that is away from the leg side, and this is where it gets the name leg break. David Acfield
David Laurence Acfield (born 24 July 1947) is an English former first-class cricketer who was also a champion fencer. Cricket career He was part of the successful Essex County Cricket Club team of the late 1970s and early 1980s and formed a noted county spin partnership with Ray East. He was a right-arm off break bowler and right-handed tail-end batsman. He played for Cambridge University from 1966 to 1968 and Essex from 1966 to 1986. He also appeared for MCC in 1973–74 and 1974. John Hutton (cricketer)
John Leonard Hutton (born 6 May 1946) is an English former first-class cricketer. Early life and career Hutton was born to the Test cricketer and former England captain Len Hutton and his wife, Dorothy, at Pudsey in May 1946. He was educated at Repton School, captaining the school cricket team in 1964. Hutton played for the Yorkshire Second XI, but was unable to follow in the footsteps of his father and brother, Richard, who both played for Yorkshire at senior level. He toured East Africa with the Marylebone Cricket Club in 1973/74, playing a single first-class match against East Africa at Nairobi. Roger Knight
Roger David Verdon Knight (born 6 September 1946) is an English administrator, cricketer and schoolmaster. He was awarded the OBE in 2007. He is an Honorary Life Member of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and was President of the club from 2015 to 2016.
