Isthmian League Cup
The Alan Turvey Trophy, also known as the Velocity Cup under a sponsorship deal, formerly the Isthmian League Cup, is a football knock-out cup competition organised by the Isthmian League in England. History Isthmian League Chairman and President Alan Turvey was among the FA's "150 Grassroots Heroes" who were presented in 2013, during the 150-year celebrations of the Football Association, with a specially minted medal by Prince William. In June 2015, Turvey stepped down from the League after nearly 60 years involvement with football. The Isthmian League cup was renamed in his honour. In 2024 the competition was named the ''Velocity Cup'' under a sponsorship deal. Leatherhead is a town in the Mole Valley district of Surrey, England, about south of Central London. The settlement grew up beside a ford on the River Mole, from which its name is thought to derive. During the late Anglo-Saxon period, Leatherhead was a royal vill and is first mentioned in the will of Alfred the Great in 880 AD. The first bridge across the Mole may have been constructed in around 1200 and this may have coincided with the expansion of the town and the enlargement of the parish church. For much of its history, Leatherhead was primarily an agricultural settlement, with a weekly market being held until the mid-Elizabethan era. Uxbridge () is a suburban town in west London, England, and the administrative headquarters of the London Borough of Hillingdon, northwest of Charing Cross. Cherrywood Road
Cherrywood Road, known as the Saunders Transport Community Stadium for sponsorship purposes, is the ground of Farnborough F.C. and the former home of Farnborough Town F.C. before the club went out of business in 2007. It lies in the town of Farnborough, Hampshire. The capacity of the ground is 7,000, with 1,927 seats. Up to the mid-1970s Farnborough Town F.C. had played at Queens Road but moved due to the lack of facilities. Cherrywood Road was newly built with the help of a local company Worldwide Carpets. The ground was originally called The John Roberts Ground but the name is rarely used with fans simply referring to the stadium as Cherrywood Road. Loakes Park was the home of Wycombe Wanderers F.C., Wycombe Wanderers Football Club from 1895 to 1990. It was located next to Wycombe General Hospital in the centre of High Wycombe, England. The ground was donated to the club by Frank Adams, a former Wanderers player who had bought the freehold on the ground from Peter Carington, 6th Baron Carrington, Lord Carrington in 1945. The club's present ground, Adams Park, was named in honour of Frank Adams. Kingstonian Football Club is an English semi-professional association football, football club based in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, south west London which currently plays in the Isthmian League South Central Division. The club was founded in 1885 by YMCA, named Kingston & Surbiton YMCA, and began competing properly in 1893 in the Surrey Junior Cup. There was a split before the start of the 1908–09 season which damaged the club, the two clubs were named Old Kingstonians and Kingston upon Thames A.F.C. After period of quiet during World War I, the two clubs re-united and joined the Athenian League in 1919, named Kingstonian.
