Isabela's 1st Congressional District
Isabela's 1st congressional district is one of the six congressional districts of the Philippines in the province of Isabela (province), Isabela. It has been represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines, House of Representatives since 1987. The district consists of the capital city of Ilagan and the northern municipalities of Cabagan, Delfin Albano, Isabela, Delfin Albano, Divilacan, Maconacon, San Pablo, Isabela, San Pablo, Santa Maria, Isabela, Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, Isabela, Santo Tomas and Tumauini. The House of Representatives of the Philippines ( fil, Kapulungan ng mga Kinatawan ng Pilipinas, italic=unset, ''Kamara'' or ''Kamara de Representantes'' from the Spanish word ''cámara'', meaning "chamber") is the lower house of Congress, the bicameral legislature of the Philippines, with the Senate of the Philippines as the upper house. The lower house is usually called Congress, although the term collectively refers to both houses. Members of the House are officially styled as ''representative'' (''kinatawan'') and sometimes informally called ''congressmen'' or ''congresswomen'' (''mga kongresista'') and are elected to a three-year term. They can be re-elected, but cannot serve more than three consecutive terms except with an interruption of one term like the senate.
