Irish Cricket Team In England In 2019
The Ireland cricket team toured England in July 2019 to play a one-off four-day Test cricket, Test match at Lord's. It was the first Test match to be played between the two sides, and was England's first four-day Test match since they English cricket team in New Zealand in 1970–71, toured New Zealand in 1971. It was Ireland's third Test match, and their twelfth international fixture against England. The Test match was part of England's preparations for the 2019 Ashes series. Joseph Edward Root, (born 30 December 1990) is an English international cricketer, who plays for the England Test and One Day International (ODI) teams, and formerly captained the Test team. He also represents Yorkshire in English domestic cricket. Root made his Test debut in 2012, his ODI debut in 2013, and played for the England Twenty20 International team between 2012 and 2019. James Alexander McCollum (born 1 August 1995) is an Irish cricketer. He made his international debut for the Ireland cricket team in February 2019. Andrew Robert McBrine (born 30 April 1993) is an Irish cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off spin. McBrine is the son of Alexander McBrine and the nephew of James McBrine, both of whom also played cricket for Ireland. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises.
