Inside Story (Australian TV Program)
''Inside Story'' was an Australian current affairs television program airing weekly on the Nine Network. The program is hosted by Leila McKinnon and commenced on 26 February 2014. It screens Wednesday evenings normally at 8.45pm (Series 1) and Thursdays at 8:40 (Series 2) and 7:30 (Series 3). The series investigates major crimes and related stories in Australia and elsewhere with a view to unveiling previously unreported/under-reported stories. Reporters include Alicia Loxley, Tom Steinfort, Peter Stefanovic, Deborah Knight, Jayne Azzopardi and Brett McLeod On 31 March 2014, the show was renewed for a second season. Current Affairs (news Format)
Current affairs is a genre of broadcast journalism in which major news stories are discussed at length in a timely manner. This differs from regular news broadcasts that place emphasis on news reports presented for simple presentation as soon as possible, often with a minimum of analysis. It is also different from the news magazine show format in that the events are discussed immediately. The UK's BBC programmes such as '' This World'', '' Panorama'', ''Real Story'', '' BBC Scotland Investigates'', '' Spotlight'', '' Week In Week Out'', and ''Inside Out'' fit the definition. Brett McLeod
Brett McLeod is an Australian television news reporter and presenter for ''Nine News''. Biography Prior to his second appointment as ''Nine News'' European correspondent, McLeod was a reporter and relief news presenter for ''Nine News Melbourne'' and ''Nine News.'' Brett also previously worked as journalist, presenter and News Director at 3AW before joining the network. McLeod has worked in Radio as part of the program Danger: Low Brow, where he was known as Brett Duck. Created at Community radio 3RRR while McLeod was completing his Media degree at RMIT, the show was later successful in both the Breakfast and Drive timeslots at FOX-FM He was the Nine Network's Europe correspondent between 2002–04, and has covered numerous major stories including the Boxing Day tsunami in Aceh, conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, East Timor, Bangkok and Beirut, and Victoria's Black Saturday fires. ''Nine News'' (stylised ''9News'') is the national news service of the Nine Network in Australia. Its flagship program is the hour-long 6:00 pm state bulletin, produced by Nine's owned-and-operated stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin. National bulletins also air on weekday mornings, weekend afternoons and most nights of the week after 10:30pm. In addition, a supplementary regional news program for the Gold Coast in Queensland airs each weeknight as well as regional bulletins for Northern NSW and the Gold Coast under the name of ''NBN News'' air seven nights a week. Trial Of Oscar Pistorius
The trial of Oscar Pistorius for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp and several gun-related charges (''The State vs Oscar Pistorius'') in the High Court of South Africa in Pretoria opened on 3 March 2014. Pistorius was a leading South African runner that won attention as an athlete with a disability competing at a high level, including at multiple Paralympic Games and the 2012 Summer Olympics. Steenkamp, a model, had been Pistorius's girlfriend for three months. In the early morning of Thursday, 14 February 2013, Steenkamp was shot and killed by Pistorius at his Pretoria home. Pistorius acknowledged that he shot Steenkamp, but he said that he mistook her for an intruder. Pistorius was taken into police custody and was formally charged with murder in a Pretoria court on 15 February 2013. Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370/MAS370) was an international passenger flight operated by Malaysia Airlines that disappeared on 8 March 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia to its planned destination, Beijing Capital International Airport. The crew of the Boeing 777-200ER registered as 9M-MRO, last communicated with air traffic control (ATC) around 38 minutes after takeoff when the flight was over the South China Sea. Manslaughter is a common law legal term for homicide considered by law as less culpable than murder. The distinction between murder and manslaughter is sometimes said to have first been made by the ancient Athenian lawmaker Draco in the 7th century BC. Karl Stefanovic ( sr-Cyrl, Карл Стефановић; born 12 August 1974), also spelt Karl Stefanović, is an Australian television presenter and journalist for the Nine Network. Stefanovic is currently a co-host of the Nine Network's breakfast program ''Today'' and presents for ''60 Minutes''. Tracy Grimshaw (born 3 June 1960) is an Australian journalist and television presenter. She was the host of '' A Current Affair'' between 2006–2022, and was a co-host of ''Today'' between 1996–2005. Career Grimshaw's career began in 1981 when she joined ''Nine News'' in Melbourne as a reporter. In 1985 she began presenting news bulletins and by 1987 had been appointed the presenter of '' Nine Morning News''. Deborah Knight (born 23 November 1972) is an Australian television and news presenter, radio host, and journalist. Knight is currently a radio presenter on 2GB and host of '' A Current Affair'' on Friday and Saturday. Previously she has been a co-host of the Nine Network's breakfast program ''Today'' and presented '' Nine News Sydney'' on Friday and Saturday.
