Inpop Records is an independent contemporary Christian music record label based in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S. It was launched in July 1999 by Australians Peter Furler, Dale Bray, and Wes Campbell. The name was derived from the idea of wanting to highlight the talents of ''in''ternational ''pop'' artists, though they have signed an equal number of American artists. History When former Newsboys lead singer Peter Furler and the band's manager Wes Campbell first came to the United States in the 1980s, they had no intention of owning a record label. A decade later, Furler decided he was tired of sharing his tour bus bunk with hundreds of demos piled high, all given to him from artists he met on tour. Deciding to do something about it, he and Campbell and Australian Businessman Dale Bray launched Inpop Records in July 1999. Peter Furler
Peter Andrew Furler (born 8 September 1966) is an Australian musician, songwriter, producer and music executive, record executive, best known as the co-founder and former lead vocalist of the Christian rock band Newsboys. Biography Furler was born in McLaren Vale, South Australia, McLaren Vale, South Australia on 8 September 1966, the third of six children of missionaries Bill and Rosalie Furler. Furler formed the Newsboys in 1985 with friends George Perdikis, Sean Taylor, and John James. He has written and produced most of Newsboys' songs, as well as co-writing/producing songs for other recording artists. He also frequently collaborated with Steve Taylor. Furler was originally the band's drummer, but became the band's lead singer after the departure of John James in 1997. Everyday Sunday
Everyday Sunday was an American Christian rock band from Columbus, Ohio with the founding member Trey Pearson as lead singer. The band released two albums on Flicker Records including '' Stand Up'' and '' Anthems for the Imperfect''. '' Wake Up! Wake Up!'' was their first album on Inpop released May 22, 2007, on Inpop Records, followed by ''Best Night of Our Lives''. Plus One was an American Christian pop boy band which formed in 1999, disbanded in 2004, and briefly reunited in 2014. The group's line-up consisted of Nate Cole, Jason Perry, Jeremy Mhire, Nathan Walters and Gabe Combs. The group enjoyed their greatest success with the release of their debut album, '' The Promise'' (2000). The group then released ''Obvious'' (2002). Philip Joel Urry (born 5 January 1973), known by his stage name Phil Joel, is a New Zealand musician and former bassist for the Christian rock group Newsboys. Background Philip Joel Urry was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He was lead singer and guitarist of the band Drinkwater. He joined the Newsboys as bassist in August 1994. Petra is an American music group regarded as a pioneer of the Christian rock and contemporary Christian music genres and was, for many years, regarded as the "world's most popular Christian rock band". Formed in 1972, the band took its name from the Greek word for "rock". Though it disbanded formally in 2006, incarnations have played reunion shows in the years since and released two albums in November 2010, and in November 2017. Paul Colman
Paul Colman is a British-Australian pop-rock guitarist, vocalist, pianist, and composer. He has made a name for himself as a Christian musician independently, with his band the Paul Colman Trio, as a solo artist, and as part of the Newsboys. Newworldson is a Canadian Christian pop/soul band based in St. Catharines, Ontario. Their musical style is very eclectic, but is principally soul music. Jimmy Needham (born August 22, 1985) is an American contemporary Christian musician signed to Inpop Records. Julian Drive are an American contemporary Christian music and Christian alternative rock band from Athens, Georgia, and they were formed in 2002. Their members are Shane Bowers, Tyler Ivory, & David Sosebee.
