''Imperial Violets'' (French:''Violettes impériales''; German:''Die Veilchen der Kaiserin'') is a 1932 French historical film directed by Henry Roussel and starring Raquel Meller, Suzanne Bianchetti and Georges Péclet.Oscherwitz & Higgins p.123 It is a remake of the 1924 silent film of the same title. Henry Roussel (1875–1946), also known as Henry Roussell, was a French silent film actor, film director and screenwriter best known for his silent films of the 1910s and 1920s. Napoleon III
Napoleon III (Charles Louis Napoléon Bonaparte; 20 April 18089 January 1873) was the first President of France (as Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte) from 1848 to 1852 and the last monarch of France as Emperor of the French from 1852 to 1870.
