It is a Rim (firearms)#Semi-rimmed, semi-rimmed, straight-walled cartridge developed by firearms designer John Browning, initially for use in the FN M1900 semi-automatic pistol. It was introduced in 1899 by Fabrique Nationale. History John Browning engineered a number of modern semi-automatic pistol mechanisms and cartridges. As his first pistol cartridge, the .32 ACP needed a straight wall for reliable Blowback (firearms), blowback operation as well as a small rim for reliable feeding from a box magazine. The cartridge Headspace (firearms), headspaces on the rim. The cartridge was a success and was adopted by dozens of countries and many governmental agencies. Periodic Table
The periodic table, also known as the periodic table of the elements, is an ordered arrangement of the chemical elements into rows (" periods") and columns (" groups"). It is an icon of chemistry and is widely used in physics and other sciences. It is a depiction of the periodic law, which states that when the elements are arranged in order of their atomic numbers an approximate recurrence of their properties is evident. The table is divided into four roughly rectangular areas called blocks. Elements in the same group tend to show similar chemical characteristics. Vertical, horizontal and diagonal trends characterize the periodic table. Metallic character increases going down a group and from right to left across a period. Nonmetallic character increases going from the bottom left of the periodic table to the top right. The first periodic table to become generally accepted was that of the Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869; he formulated the periodic law as ...

Metalloid
A metalloid is a chemical element which has a preponderance of material property, properties in between, or that are a mixture of, those of metals and Nonmetal (chemistry), nonmetals. The word metalloid comes from the Latin language, Latin ''metallum'' ("metal") and the Greek language, Greek ''oeides'' ("resembling in form or appearance"). There is no standard definition of a metalloid and no complete agreement on which elements are metalloids. Despite the lack of specificity, the term remains in use in the literature. The six commonly recognised metalloids are boron, silicon, germanium, arsenic, antimony and tellurium. Five elements are less frequently so classified: carbon, aluminium, selenium, polonium and astatine. On a standard periodic table, all eleven elements are in a diagonal region of the p-block extending from boron at the upper left to astatine at lower right. Some periodic tables include a dividing line between metals and nonmetals, and the metalloids may be found cl ...

32 (number)
32 (thirty-two) is the natural number following 31 (number), 31 and preceding 33 (number), 33. Mathematics 32 is the fifth power of two (2^), making it the first non-unitary Fifth power (algebra), fifth-power of the form p^ where p is prime. 32 is the totient summatory function \Phi(n) over the first 10 integers, and the smallest number n with exactly 7 solutions for \varphi (n). The aliquot sum of a power of two is always one less than the number itself, therefore the aliquot sum of 32 is 31 (number), 31. \begin 32 & = 1^ + 2^ + 3^ \\ 32 & = (1\times4)+(2\times5)+(3\times6) \\ 32 & = (1\times2)+(1\times2\times3)+(1\times2\times3\times4) \\ 32 & = (1\times2\times3)+(4\times5)+(6) \end The product between ''neighbor'' numbers of 23 (number), 23, the dual permutation of the Numerical digit, digits of 32 in Base ten, decimal, is equal to the sum of the first 32 integers: 22 \times 24= 528. 32 is also a Leyland number expressible in the form x^y + y^x, where: 32=2^ + 4^. Germanium
Germanium is a chemical element; it has Symbol (chemistry), symbol Ge and atomic number 32. It is lustrous, hard-brittle, grayish-white and similar in appearance to silicon. It is a metalloid or a nonmetal in the carbon group that is chemically similar to silicon. Like silicon, germanium naturally Chemical reaction, reacts and forms complexes with oxygen in nature. Because it seldom appears in high concentration, germanium was found comparatively late in the Timeline of chemical element discoveries, discovery of the elements. Germanium ranks 50th Abundance of elements in Earth's crust, in abundance of the elements in the Earth's crust. In 1869, Dmitri Mendeleev Mendeleev's predicted elements, predicted its existence and some of its Chemical property, properties from its position on his periodic table, and called the element ekasilicon. On February 6, 1886, Clemens Winkler at Freiberg University found the new element, along with silver and sulfur, in the mineral argyrodite. Winkle ...

32 Pomona
32 Pomona ( ;) is a stony main-belt asteroid that is in diameter. It was discovered by German-French astronomer Hermann Mayer Salomon Goldschmidt on October 26, 1854, and is named after Pomona (mythology), Pōmōna, the Roman mythology, Roman goddess of fruit trees. Photometry (astronomy), Photometric observations of this asteroid gave a light curve with a synodic rotation period of 9.448 hours. The data was used to construct a model for the asteroid, revealing it to be an angular object that is spinning about a pole with ecliptic coordinates (β, λ) = (+58°, 267°). The ratio of the major to minor axes' lengths is roughly equal to 1.3. The spectrum of 32 Pomona matches an S-type asteroid, S-type in the Tholen classification system, and is similar to primitive achondrite meteorites. Measurements of the thermal inertia of 32 Pomona give a value of around 20–120 m−2 K−1 s−1/2, compared to 50 for lunar regolith and 400 for coarse sand in an atmosphere. Observations Aust ...
