Indian Army Public Schools
Army Public Schools (APS) is a system of private schools established for imparting education to the children of the Indian armed forces personnel. With 137 schools throughout the country, it is one of the largest chains of schools in India. It is controlled by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), which was established in 1983, has over the years established more than 135 Army public schools and 249 Army pre-primary schools across India, and also several institutions of higher education. From a modest 20,000-student population in 1987, APSs have grown to mammoth systems with a student strength of approximately 2.3 lac and 8500 teaching staff. International Academy For Philosophy Of Science
The International Academy for Philosophy of Science, better known as the (AIPS) is an international organization located in Brussels, which promotes fundamental issues of philosophy of science in an open interdisciplinary dialogue. Its members are philosophers of science or leading experts in sciences interested in philosophical questions. History The AIPS was created in 1947 by Stanislas Dockx. Among its first members were Paul Bernays, E W Beth, Józef Maria Bocheński, Niels Bohr, Émile Borel, L. E. J. The International Affective Picture System (IAPS) is a database of pictures designed to provide a standardized set of pictures for studying emotion and attentionLang, P.J., Bradley, M.M., & Cuthbert, B.N. The IAPS was developed by the National Institute of Mental Health Center for Emotion and Attention at the University of Florida. The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS, formerly Independent Association of Preparatory Schools) is a schools association, representing around 670 preparatory schools. The majority of IAPS' schools are in the UK, with other locations including Africa, the Middle East, Singapore, and the USA. IAPS is a part of the Independent Schools Council. History IAPS was founded in 1892, as the Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools. In 1981 IAPS merged with the Association of Headmistresses of Preparatory Schools, and ten years later moved its headquarters from Kensington to its current offices in Leamington Spa. In 2007 the Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools changed its legal title to IAPS, and became known as the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools. Robert Austin Markus
Robert Austin Markus, (8 October 1924 – 8 December 2010), born Róbert Imre Márkus, was a Hungarian-born British historian and philosopher best known for his research on the early history of Christianity. Early life Róbert Imre Márkus was born in Budapest, Hungary on 8 October 1924. Both of his parents were Jews with strong ties to Christianity. His father, Gyözö (Victor) Márkus (1897–1971), was the director of a heavy engineering firm which had been founded by Robert's grandfather Márkus Lajos, originally a locksmith. Robert's mother, Lili (Lily) Elek (1900–1962), was the daughter of the manager of an enormous forest in Osijek, modern-day Croatia. She was an internationally recognized ceramicist.
