House Of Fools (film)
''House of Fools'' (russian: Дом дураков, ''Dom durakov'') is a 2002 Russian film by Andrei Konchalovsky about psychiatric patients and combatants during the First Chechen War. It stars Julia Vysotskaya and Sultan Islamov and features a number of cameo appearances by Bryan Adams, with the music composed by Eduard Artemyev. Distinctly anti-war, unbiased and controversial in Russia, ''House of Fools'' is a bizarre blend of black comedy, touching drama, horrific warfare and subtly disturbing psychological content. Andrei Sergeyevich Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky (russian: link=no, Андрей Сергеевич Михалков-Кончаловский; born 20 August 1937) is a Russian filmmaker. He has worked in Soviet, Hollywood, and contemporary Russian cinema. He is a laureate of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", a National Order of the Legion of Honour, an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters, a Cavalier of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and a People's Artist of the RSFSR. Vladimir Anatolyevich Fyodorov (russian: Влади́мир Анато́льевич Фёдоров; 19 February 1939 — 18 May 2021) was a Soviet and Russian actor and physicist. Biography In 1964, Fyodorov graduated from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and he joined the Institute of Biophysics, USSR Ministry of Health. Vladimir Fyodorov's profession was nuclear physicist and he was the author of more than 50 scientific works and inventions. Many of his works have been translated into English. White Tights, White Pantyhose or White Stockings (russian: белые колготки, ; lt, baltosios pėdkelnės; lv, baltās zeķbikses; et, valged sukkpüksid) is a Russian urban legend about female sniper mercenaries fighting against Russian forces in various armed conflicts from the late 1980s. The legend describes these women as blond Amazon-like nationalistic biathletes turned anti-Russian mercenaries. They come predominantly from the Baltic states, but subsequent variations of the legend have diversified the ethnic composition of the snipers, including Ukrainian and Russian women in their midst. The name "White Tights" originates from the white-coloured winter sports attire these snipers were wearing and was first coined during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. King Of Hearts (1966 Film)
''King of Hearts'' (original French title: ''Le Roi de cœur'') is a 1966 French/Italian international co-production comedy-drama film directed by Philippe de Broca and starring Alan Bates and Geneviève Bujold. The film is set in a small town in France near the end of World War I. As the Imperial German Army retreats, they booby trap the whole town to explode. The locals flee and, left to their own devices, a gaggle of cheerful lunatics escape the asylum and take over the town — thoroughly confusing the lone Scottish soldier who has been dispatched to defuse the bomb. Though the film is set during WWI the main message against war which the film pushes is intended to be about the Vietnam war which France had already been involved in for over a decade at this point.
