History Of Algeciras
Algeciras ( , ) is a municipality of Spain belonging to the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. Located in the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula, near the Strait of Gibraltar, it is the largest city on the Bay of Gibraltar ( es, Bahía de Algeciras, link=no). The Port of Algeciras is one of the largest ports in Europe and the world in three categories: container, cargo and transshipment. The urban area straddles the small Río de la Miel, which is the southernmost river of continental Europe. As of 1 January 2020, the municipality had a registered population of 123,078, second in its province after Jerez de la Frontera and greater than Cádiz city population. It forms part of the ''comarca'' of Campo de Gibraltar. La Línea De La Concepción
La Línea de la Concepción (, more often referred to as La Línea) is a municipality of Spain belonging to the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. The city lies on the sandy isthmus which is part of the eastern flank of the Bay of Gibraltar, and it limits with the Gibraltar–Spain border to the south. La Línea has close economic and social links with the British overseas territory of Gibraltar. The first dwellings, which date back to the 18th century, were behind the Spanish lines, being part of the municipality of San Roque until 1870, when La Línea became a standalone municipality. Los Barrios
Los Barrios is a small town and municipality in the south of Spain. It is part of the province of Cádiz, which in turn is part of the Andalusia region. It belongs to the Campo de Gibraltar comarca. The town's name means “the districts” or “the neighbourhoods” in English. History Although the area is known to have been inhabited since prehistoric times, the town is of relatively recent provenance, having been founded in 1704 by refugees from Gibraltar. After abandoning their homes following Gibraltar's capture by Anglo-Dutch forces during the War of the Spanish Succession, some of the inhabitants of Gibraltar took refuge around the existing hermitage of San Isidro at the confluence of the rivers Guadarranque, Guadacorte and Cañas. Campo de Gibraltar (, "Gibraltar Countryside") is a comarca (county) in the province of Cádiz, Spain, in the southwestern part of the autonomous community of Andalusia, the southernmost part of mainland Europe.
