Hindawi Affair
The Hindawi affair was a failed attempt to bomb El Al Flight 016, from London to Tel Aviv in April 1986 by Nezar Nawwaf al-Mansur al-Hindawi ( ar, نزار نواف منصور الهنداوي, born 1954), a Jordanian citizen. On the morning of 17 April 1986, at Heathrow Airport in London, Israeli security guards working for El Al airlines found of Semtex explosive in the bag of Anne-Marie Murphy, a five-month pregnant Irishwoman attempting to board a flight to Tel Aviv with 375 other passengers. In addition, a functioning calculator in the bag was found to be a timed triggering device. She claimed to be unaware of the contents, and that she had been given the bag by her fiancé, Nezar Hindawi, a Jordanian. Murphy maintained that Hindawi had sent her on the flight for the purpose of meeting his parents before marriage. Hindustani Language
Hindustani (; Devanagari: , * * * * ; Perso-Arabic: , , ) is the '' lingua franca'' of Northern and Central India and Pakistan. Hindustani is a pluricentric language with two standard registers, known as Hindi and Urdu. Thus, the language is sometimes called Hindi–Urdu. Despite these standard registers, colloquial speech in Hindustani often exists on a spectrum between these standards. Ancestors of the language were known as ''Hindui'', ''Hindavi'', ''Zabān-e Hind'' (), ''Zabān-e Hindustan'' (), ''Hindustan ki boli'' (), Rekhta, and Hindi. Hindustan
''Hindūstān'' ( , from '' Hindū'' and ''-stān''), also sometimes spelt as Hindōstān ( ''Indo-land''), along with its shortened form ''Hind'' (), is the Persian-language name for the Indian subcontinent that later became commonly used by its inhabitants in the Hindi–Urdu language. Hindustan was the Persian word for ''India'', but when introduced to the subjects under Persianate rule, the subsequent culture which resulted from these events gave it another specific meaning that of the cultural region between the river Sutlej (end of Northwestern India) and the city Varanasi (start of Eastern India). Hindawi Programming System (hereafter referred to as HPS) is a suite of open source programming languages. It allows non-English medium literates to learn and write computer programs. It is a scalable system which supports many programming paradigms. Shaili Prathmik or Indic BASIC and Indic LOGO are for beginners who want to start with computer programming. On the higher end it supports Shaili Guru (Indic C), Shaili Shraeni (Indic C++), Shaili Yantrik (Indic Assembly), Shaily Shabda (Indic Lex), Shaili Vyaakaran (Shaili Vyaaka/Indic Yacc), and Shaili Kritrim, which is an Indic programming language targeting JVM. Hindawi is a publisher of peer-reviewed, open access, scientific journals currently active in scientific, technical, and medical (STM) literature. It was founded in 1997 in Cairo, Egypt, but purchased in 2021 by John Wiley & Sons, a publishing company based in the United States. The company has its headquarters in London, an office in Cairo, and a virtual office address in New York City. Khairuddin bin Saleh bin Abdul Qadir bin Khudhur Al-Hindawi Al-Hassani (Arabic:خيرالدين بن صالح بن عبدالقادر بن خضر الهنداوي الحسني) was an Iraqi poet and a governor of several provinces. Family His family goes back to Hashim ibn 'Abd Manaf, the grandfather of prophet Mohammed. They called Khairi (Al-Hindawi) because his great grandfather, Khudhur, studied on the hands of an Indian scientist, called Ghulam Rasool Punjapi. Khairi's family were from Bab Al-Sheikh in Baghdad. Khalil Al Hindawi (1906, Sidon – 1976, Aleppo) was a Syrian writer and poet. Early life Hindawi finished his studies at Al Makasid Islamic and Charitable Association in Saïda in 1924, and started teaching there when he was 17 years old. He was exiled from Lebanon by French authorities after delivering a poem in a national ceremony, welcoming Riad as-Solh, who was coming back from his exile for the first time in 1928. He was sent to Syria, and he stayed in Damascus during the First World War. Career In 1929, he worked as a teacher at Deir ez-Zor high school in Syria, and started writing in ''Al Risala'' and ''Al Muktataf'' magazines.
