Henry Fitzalan-Howard, Earl Of Arundel And Surrey
Henry Miles Fitzalan-Howard, Earl of Arundel (born 3 December 1987), also known as Henry Arundel, is a British aristocrat, businessman and former racing driver. He is the heir apparent to the Dukedom of Norfolk, and the family seat is Arundel Castle. He was called Lord Maltravers from birth until his father succeeded to the dukedom in 2002, at which point he became known by the courtesy title of Earl of Arundel. Life and career Lord Arundel is the eldest son of Edward Fitzalan-Howard, 18th Duke of Norfolk, and his ex-wife Georgina Gore. From 2007 to 2010, he studied at the University of Bristol and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in economics. Earl Of Arundel
Earl of Arundel is a title of nobility in England, and one of the oldest extant in the English peerage. It is currently held by the Duke of Norfolk, and is used (along with the Earl of Surrey) by his heir apparent as a courtesy title. The earldom was created in 1138 or 1139 for the French baron William d'Aubigny. Its origin was the earlier grant by Henry I to his second wife, Adeliza of Louvain, of the forfeited ''honour'' of Arundel, which included the castle and a large portion of Sussex. After his death, she married William, who thus became master of the lands, and who from about the year 1141 is variously styled earl of Sussex, of Chichester, or of Arundel. Arundel Castle
Arundel Castle is a restored and remodelled medieval castle in Arundel, West Sussex, England. It was established during the reign of Edward the Confessor and completed by Roger de Montgomery. The castle was damaged in the English Civil War and then restored in the 18th and 19th centuries by Charles Howard, 11th Duke of Norfolk. Since the 11th century, the castle has been the seat of the Earls of Arundel and the Dukes of Norfolk. It is a Grade I listed building. History The original structure was a motte-and-bailey castle. Baron Somers
Baron Somers, of Evesham in the County of Worcester, is a title that has been created twice. The title was first created in the Peerage of England in 1697 for Sir John Somers, so that he could sit in the House of Lords and serve as Lord Chancellor. The title became extinct on Lord Somers' death in 1716. His sister and co-heiress, Mary Somers, married Charles Cocks, a member of a prominent Worcestershire family.
