Hammond Station (Louisiana)
Hammond station is an Amtrak train station in Hammond, Louisiana, United States. It is a station on Amtrak's daily ''City of New Orleans'' route which runs between Chicago and New Orleans. The Illinois Central Railroad built the station in 1912. A freight station was built in Hammond in 1927 a few blocks south; however this station is no longer active except as a flea market and seafood restaurant. Known locally as the Depot, Hammond's historic Amtrak station has been refurbished with a raised passenger platform. Hammond Station (South Shore Line)
Hammond is a South Shore Line station in Hammond, Indiana that serves trains west and north to Millennium Station and east to East Chicago, Gary, Michigan City, and South Bend, Indiana. Westbound, this is the last stop before trains cross into Illinois, and the first stop in Indiana for outbound trains. Facilities Hammond consists of a pair of high-level platforms located between the crossings of Hohman and Johnson Avenues. The southern platform is a side platform serving eastbound trains to Michigan City and South Bend while the northern platform, situated between the two tracks, is of the island type but only serves westbound trains to Chicago. The tracks through the station are gauntlet tracks which permit the passage of freight trains. The station building is located east of Hohman Avenue south of the tracks. Hammond–Whiting Station
Hammond–Whiting station is an Amtrak intercity train station in Hammond, Indiana. The station is along the former Pennsylvania Railroad Fort Wayne Line, now owned by Norfolk Southern Railway. North of the station lies the former Baltimore and Ohio (now CSX) and Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railroad (now Canadian National) tracks. The station building and parking lot lies on the former New York Central Railroad mainline. Hammond–Whiting opened on September 11, 1982. Until the early 2000s, it was served by all Amtrak service that ran east from Chicago; today, it is only served by two daily ''Wolverine'' round trips.
