Hela (comics)
Hela () is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is based on the goddess Hel from Norse mythology, and was first adapted by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in '' Journey into Mystery'' #102. Hela is the Asgardian Goddess of Death who serves as the ruler of Hel and Niflheim. The character is usually depicted as an adversary of the superhero Thor. Hela made her live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film '' Thor: Ragnarok'' (2017), portrayed by Cate Blanchett. Blanchett also voiced alternate versions of the character in the animated series '' What If...?''. Niflheim
In Norse cosmology, Niflheim or Niflheimr (Old Norse: ; "World of Mist", literally "Home of Mist") is a location which sometimes overlaps with the notions of Niflhel and Hel. The name ''Niflheimr'' appears only in two extant sources: ''Gylfaginning'' and the much-debated ''Hrafnagaldr Óðins''. Niflheim was primarily a realm of primordial ice and cold, with the frozen rivers of Élivágar and the well of Hvergelmir, from which come all the rivers. According to ''Gylfaginning'', Niflheim was the first of the two primordial realms to emanate out of Ginnungagap, the other one being Muspelheim, the realm of fire. Between these two realms of cold and heat, creation began when its waters mixed with the heat of Muspelheim to form a "creating steam". The Wrecker (Dirk Garthwaite) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character made his live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe television series '' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law'', portrayed by Nick Gomez. Angrboða (Old Norse: ; also Angrboda) is a'' jötunn'' in Norse mythology. She is the mate of Loki and the mother of monsters. She is only mentioned once in the Poetic Edda (''Völuspá hin skamma)'' as the mother of Fenrir by Loki. The Prose Edda (''Gylfaginning'') describes her as "a giantess in Jötunheimar" and as the mother of three monsters: the wolf Fenrir, the Midgard serpent Jörmungandr, and the ruler of the dead Hel.
