Heinrich III, Holy Roman Emperor
Henry III (, 28 October 1016 – 5 October 1056), called the Black () or the Pious, was Holy Roman Emperor from 1046 until his death in 1056. A member of the Salian dynasty, he was the eldest son of Conrad II and Gisela of Swabia. Henry was raised by his father, who made him Duke of Bavaria in 1026, appointed him co-ruler in 1028 and bestowed him with the duchy of Swabia and the Kingdom of Burgundy ten years later in 1038. The emperor's death the following year ended a remarkably smooth and harmonious transition process towards Henry's sovereign rule, that was rather uncharacteristic for the Ottonian and Salian monarchs. Henry succeeded Conrad II as Duke of Carinthia and King of Italy and continued to pursue his father's political course on the basis of ''virtus et probitas'' (courage and honesty), which led to an unprecedented sacral exaltation of the kingship. Heinrich of Saxe-Weissenfels, Count of Barby (b. Halle, 29 September 1657 - d. Barby, 16 February 1728), was a German prince of the House of Wettin and count of Barby. He was the fourth son of August, Duke of Saxe-Weissenfels, by his first wife, Duchess Anna Maria of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Early life Heinrich, as the fourth son of his father, had little chance of inheriting any lands, and so his father, who served as administrator of the Diocese of Magdeburg, arranged for his appointment in 1674 as Provost of Magdeburg upon the death of the incumbent, his older brother August. Prince Heinrich of Bavaria (24 June 1884 – 8 November 1916) was a member of the Bavarian Royal House of Wittelsbach and a highly decorated Army officer in the First World War. Heinrich Maximilian Egon Karl Fürst zu Fürstenberg (17 July 1950 – 11 July 2024) was a German landowner and head of the former princely House of Fürstenberg from 2002 to 2024. Early years Heinrich Fürst zu Fürstenberg was born in 1950 at Schloss Heiligenberg in Heiligenberg, Germany. He was the eldest son of Joachim Egon Fürst zu Fürstenberg (1923-2002), and his wife, Paula Gräfin von Königsegg-Aulendorf (1926-2019). He studied economics at the University of Vienna. Career Fürstenberg's father died in 2002, and he assumed the role as head of the House of Fürstenberg at that time. Heinrich, Duke of Saxe-Merseburg (Merseburg, 2 September 1661 – Doberlug, 28 July 1738), was a duke of Saxe-Merseburg and member of the House of Wettin. Count Heinrich von Bellegarde, Viceroy of Lombardy-Venetia ( or sometimes ''Heinrich von Bellegarde''; 29 August 1756 – 22 July 1845), of a noble Savoyard family, was born in Saxony, joined the Saxon army and later entered Habsburg military service, where he became a general officer serving in the Habsburg border wars, the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars.
