Guy Davis (comics)
Guy Davis (born 1966) is an American creature designer, concept artist, illustrator and storyboard artist who has worked on film, television, comic book and video game projects. He is known for his collaborations with filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, including the television series ''The Strain'' (2014–17) and the films ''Pacific Rim'' (2013), ''Crimson Peak'' (2015) and ''The Shape of Water'' (2017). Beforehand, Davis was the regular artist for the ''Hellboy'' spinoff comic '' B.P.R.D.'' (2003–2010), as well as the artist behind his own creator-owned comic '' The Marquis'' (2009). Biography Career A self-taught illustrator, Guy Davis began his art career in 1985. The Marquis (comics)
''The Marquis'' is an American independent comic book series written and illustrated by Guy Davis, released by Caliber Comics, Oni Press and Dark Horse Comics. Publication history ''The Marquis'' was originally published by Caliber Comics where the ''Les Preludes'' issue appeared in 1997, followed by the rest of the ''Danse Macabre'' series from Oni Comics in 2000. This was followed by a one-shot and a two-issue miniseries in 2002–2003. Davis will be finishing the story he started at Dark Horse Comics, where he was working on ''B.P.R.D.'' from 2003 to 2011. He said: The ultimate plan was to make ''The Marquis'' a five-volume series. The first volume, ''Inferno'', collects the trade paperbacks ''Danse Macabre'' and ''Intermezzo''. The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (the B.P.R.D. or BPRD) is a fictional organization in the comic book work of Mike Mignola, founded by the United States and United Kingdom governments, charged with researching the occult, paranormal and supernatural, and defending against their dangers. The B.P.R.D. originally appeared in the ''Hellboy'' comics and has since been a major part of its expanded universe. In 2002, Dark Horse Comics launched the ''B.P.R.D.'' comic series, and in 2014 the '' Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.'' series. ''ParaNorman'' is a 2012 American stop-motion animated comedy horror film directed by Sam Fell and Chris Butler (the latter's feature directorial debut), and written by Butler.
