Communities *Baxter is an unincorporated community located within the township at . Baxter was settled as a train station on the Manistee and North-Eastern Railroad, and a post office opened on July 30, 1910. The station and post office are no longer in operation. *Mystic is a former settlement that very briefly had a rural post office that operated from March 3, 1900 until August 31, 1901. Tripp County is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 5,624. Its county seat is Winner. The county was created in 1873, and was organized in 1909. It is named for lawyer, judge, and diplomat Bartlett Tripp. Geography Tripp County lies on the south line of South Dakota. Its south boundary is the Nebraska state line, while its north boundary is the meandering White River. The Keya Paha River flows east-southeasterly through the lower part of the county. The county terrain is composed of rolling hills carved by gullies and drainages. The county terrain generally slopes to the south and east, although its upper portion drops northward into the White River valley. History Greenwood Township was formed from old Fermanagh Township, Cumberland County on 25 March 1767, the fourth of the original townships formed within what would be separated as Perry County. It was named for Joseph Greenwood, an early settler. After many partitions, Fermanaugh Township is in Juniata County. After many partitions, Greenwood Township has been reduced to its current boundaries. History The Dimmsville Covered Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It collapsed in 2017. Geography Greenwood Township is in southern Crawford County, bordered to the south by Mercer County. It is bordered to the north by the Conneaut Outlet, a stream with associated wetlands flowing from Conneaut Lake towards French Creek, a tributary of the Allegheny River. Baxter County is a county in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2020 census, the county's population was 41,627. The county seat is Mountain Home. It is Arkansas's 66th county, formed on March 24, 1873, and named for Elisha Baxter, the tenth governor of Arkansas. The Mountain Home, AR, Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Baxter County. It is in the northern part of the state, bordering Missouri.
