Greatest Hits (Mark Wills Album)
''Greatest Hits'' is the first compilation album by American country music artist Mark Wills. Released in 2002 on Mercury Nashville Records, it features the greatest hits from his first four studio albums: 1996's ''Mark Wills'', 1998's ''Wish You Were Here'', 2000's '' Permanently'', and 2001's '' Loving Every Minute''. Content Two new tracks were also recorded for this compilation, both released as singles: "19 Somethin'" and "When You Think of Me". The former became his second number 1 hit on the '' Billboard'' Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts, holding that position for six weeks; "When You Think of Me" peaked at number 28 on the same chart. Mark Wills
Mark Wills (born Daryl Mark Williams; August 8, 1973) is an American country music artist. Signed to Mercury Records between 1996 and 2003, he released five studio albums for the label – '' Mark Wills'', ''Wish You Were Here'', ''Permanently'', '' Loving Every Minute'', and '' And the Crowd Goes Wild'' – as well as a greatest hits package. In that same timespan, he charted sixteen singles on the ''Billboard'' country charts, all of which made the top 40. After leaving Mercury in 2003, he signed to Equity Music Group and charted three more singles. Two of these were later included on his sixth studio album, '' Familiar Stranger'', which was released on the Tenacity label in 2008. Of his albums, ''Wish You Were Here'' is the best-selling, with a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. The 50-position chart lists the most popular country music albums in the country, calculated weekly by Broadcast Data Systems based on physical sales along with digital sales and streaming. The chart was first published in the issue of ''Billboard'' dated January 11, 1964, under the title Hot Country Albums, when the number one album was '' Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash'' by Johnny Cash. Donald Ralph "Skip" Ewing (born March 6, 1964) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Active since 1988, Ewing has recorded nine studio albums and has charted 15 singles on the '' Billboard'' country charts. Career Ewing was born in Redlands, California, United States. He first began to gain national attention during the mid-1980s, both as a songwriter and recording artist for MCA and Capitol Records. James William Anderson III (born November 1, 1937), known professionally as Bill Anderson, is an American country music singer, songwriter, and television host. His soft-spoken singing voice was given the nickname "Whispering Bill" by music critics and writers. As a songwriter, his compositions have been covered by various music artists since the late 1950s, including Ray Price and George Strait. Anderson was raised in Decatur, Georgia, and began composing songs while in high school. Allen Shamblin is a country music songwriter who was born in Tennessee, and was brought up in Huffman, Texas. After graduating from Sam Houston State University he worked in Austin as a real estate appraiser. In 1987, he quit his job and moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a songwriter. He supported himself by parking cars and working in a warehouse. During live shows he tells stories about his parents sending him money so he could survive. Steve Seskin is an American singer, songwriter, and musician whose songs have been recorded by recording artists Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Waylon Jennings, Tim McGraw, Colin Raye, and Mark Wills among others.
