Grand Junction High School
Grand Junction High School (GJHS) is a public high school located in Grand Junction, Colorado, United States. It is part of the Mesa County Valley School District 51. It is one of four high schools located within the Grand Valley. History Originally founded in 1891, the school has been located at its current location on Fifth St. since 1956. In early 2022; an entirely new GJHS school building began construction, after the building is finished, the original building will be demolished. As of 2021, the student-teacher ratio was approximately 17:1. A wall of the school was signed by U.S President Barack Obama in 2013. Grand Junction is a home rule municipality that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of Mesa County, Colorado, United States. The city population was 65,560 at the 2020 United States Census, making Grand Junction the 17th most populous Colorado municipality and the most populous city in western Colorado. A dance squad or dance team, sometimes called a pom squad or song team, is a team of participants that participates in competitive dance. A dance squad can also include: a jazz squad, ballet squad, or any kind of religion dance squad. Dance squads are a type of performance dance. In the United States and Canada most high schools, and universities, have a dance squad. These squads perform at sporting events, most commonly at football and basketball games. San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers were a professional American football team that played in San Diego from 1961 until the end of the 2016 season, before relocating to Los Angeles, where the franchise had played its inaugural 1960 season. Marques Harris (born September 20, 1981) is a former American football linebacker. He was signed by the San Diego Chargers an undrafted free agent in 2005. He played college football at Southern Utah. Harris has also played for the San Francisco 49ers. Paul Briggs (American Football)
Paul Leonard Briggs (April 18, 1920 – February 14, 2011) was an American football tackle who played one season with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the seventh round of the 1944 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Colorado and attended Grand Junction High School in Grand Junction, Colorado. Briggs was the head football coach of Bakersfield High School in Bakersfield, California from 1953 to 1985. He was head coach of Rocky Ford High School in Rocky Ford, Colorado from 1949 to 1950 and head coach of Natrona County High School from 1951 to 1952. Scholastic wrestling, also known in the United States as folkstyle wrestling, is a style of amateur wrestling practiced at the high school and middle school levels in the United States. This wrestling style is essentially collegiate wrestling with some slight rule modifications. According to an athletics participation survey taken by the National Federation of State High School Associations, boys' wrestling ranked eighth in terms of the number of schools sponsoring teams, with 9,445 schools participating in the 2006–07 school year.
