Albert Glinsky
Albert Glinsky (born December 9, 1952) is an American composer and author. His music has been performed internationally by soloists, ensembles, and dance companies. His book, ''Theremin: Ether Music and Espionage'' won the 2001 ASCAP Deems Taylor Award, and is regarded as the standard work on the life of Leon Theremin. In 2009 Glinsky was invited by the family of synthesizer pioneer, Bob Moog (who wrote the foreword to Glinsky's ''Theremin''), to create Moog's biography. ''Switched On: Bob Moog and the Synthesizer Revolution'', with a Foreword by Francis Ford Coppola, was released by Oxford University Press on September 23, 2022. Gliński's Hexagonal Chess
Hexagonal chess is a group of chess variants played on boards composed of hexagon . The best known is Gliński's variant, played on a symmetric 91-cell hexagonal board. Since each hexagonal cell not on a board edge has six neighbor cells, there is increased mobility for pieces compared to a standard orthogonal chessboard. (E.g., a rook has six natural directions for movement instead of four.) Three colours are typically used so that no two neighboring cells are the same colour, and a colour-restricted game piece such as the orthodox chess bishop usually comes in sets of three per player in order to maintain the game's balance. Many different shapes and sizes of hexagon-based boards are used by variants. Piotr Tadeusz Gliński (; born 20 April 1954) is a Polish sociologist, professor, university lecturer and politician. He served as president of the Polish Sociological Association from 2005 to 2011. He was the nominee of Law and Justice, the largest opposition party, for Prime Minister of Poland. Juozas Glinskis (born October 15, 1933, Sindriūnai, Pasvalys district) is a Lithuanian playwright. Works Juozas Glinskis marked a new stage in the development of Lithuanian theatre in the second half of the 20th century. He broke the traditional Lithuanian (usually a poetic drama) model, and is known as the pioneer of Lithuanian “theatre of cruelty”. The writer himself, however, calls his works “cognitive dramas”. Wieńczysław Gliński (10 May 1921 – 8 July 2008) was a Polish stage and film actor. He was a member of the Polish resistance movement Home Army during World War II.
