Gipuzkoa Autonomous Football Team
The Gipuzkoa autonomous football team was the regional football team for the province of Gipuzkoa, Spain, active between the 1910s and the 1930s. They were never affiliated with FIFA or UEFA, because Gipuzkoa is represented internationally by the Spain national football team. History Early history Gipuzkoa's first recorded game was held at San Mamés on 13 December 1914 against Biscay, and they lost 2–1. Patricio Arabolaza was the scorer of the first goal in the team's history. A month later they faced Biscay again, this time at the Atotxa Stadium, and won comfortably 4–0. Basque Football Federation
The Basque Football Federation ( eu, Euskadiko Futbol Federakundea, EFF; es, Federación Vasca de Fútbol, link=no, FVF) is the body responsible for managing association football in the Basque Country autonomous region. Its offices are in the Txurdinaga neighbourhood of Bilbao. The federation manages several leagues such as the Basque Youth League and the Basque Women's Football League, as well as the Basque regional stage of the Federation Cup. It also organises Group 4 of the regionalised Tercera División (the fourth tier of the men's Spanish football league system), although unlike most parts of the country, the leagues at the fifth level and below are administered separately by provincial federations for Álava, Biscay and Gipuzkoa. 1922–23 Prince Of Asturias Cup
The 1922–23 Prince of Asturias Cup was the fifth tournament of the Prince of Asturias Cup, which is an inter-regional football competition contested by the regional selections of Spain. The pre-favourites to win were the Catalan team because at that time they had great international figures such as the Spanish goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora or the Barcelona players Josep Samitier, the Filipino Paulino Alcántara and the Argentine Emili Sagi-Barba, but instead, they were knocked out in the semi-finals by the eventual champions Asturias, who defeated Galicia in the final 3–1, courtesy of a second-half brace from José Luis Zabala. Gipuzkoa Championship
The Gipuzkoa Regional Championship (Spanish: ''Campeonato Regional de Guipúzcoa''; Basque: ''Gipuzkoako Herrialde Txapelketa'') was an official football tournament in Spain, organised by the Gipuzkoan Football Federation in which affiliated clubs participated. It was played annually between 1918 and 1940 and served to elect the representative of the territory in the Copa del Rey. Pichichi (footballer)
Rafael Moreno Aranzadi (23 May 1892 – 1 March 1922), known as Pichichi, was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward. He played for Athletic Bilbao during the 1910s and 1920s. He received his nickname because of his frail build. Club career Born in Bilbao, Biscay, Pichichi played in his first Copa del Rey final in March 1913 as Athletic Bilbao, his sole club, lost 1–0 against Racing Club de Irún. Later the same year, on 21 August, the same opponents, now renamed Real Unión, were invited to play the inaugural game at San Mamés Stadium, and he scored the very first goal at the ground; two months later, he also scored the first goal at Real Sociedad's new Atotxa Stadium in the opening fixture for that venue. Juan Legarreta Ugarte (1897 in Irún, Spain - 22 November 1978 in Santiago, Chile) is a former Spanish-Chilean footballer who played for Unión Española as a central defender.
