It is a surname of patronymic origin; ''García'' was a very common first name in early medieval Iberia. Padre Garcia, officially the Municipality of Padre Garcia ( tgl, Bayan ng Padre Garcia), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Batangas, Philippines.
