Greater Manchester bus route 409 is a Bee Network contracted bus route in Greater Manchester, England. Running between Ashton-under-Lyne bus station and Rochdale Interchange, it is operated by Stagecoach Manchester. History The 409 was originally a trolleybus service launched in the 1930s, operating between Ashton-under-Lyne and Oldham. The Bee Network is an integrated transport network for Greater Manchester, comprising bus, tram, cycling and walking routes. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is expected to have commuter rail services joining the network in 2028. First Greater Manchester is a bus operator in Greater Manchester. The company was formed in February 1986 by the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive prior to deregulation on 26 October. Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) was the Passenger transport executive, public body responsible for public transport in Greater Manchester between 1974 and 2011, when it became part of Transport for Greater Manchester. The Royal Oldham Hospital is a NHS hospital in the Coldhurst area of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. It is managed by the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.
