A generation is all of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively. It also is "the average period, generally considered to be about 20–30 years, during which children are born and grow up, become adults, and begin to have children." In kinship, ''generation'' is a structural term, designating the parent–child relationship. In biology, ''generation'' also means biogenesis, reproduction, and procreation. Generations (Journey Album)
''Generations'' is the twelfth studio album by the American rock band Journey. It was the band's last album with lead singer Steve Augeri. The album was given away for free by the band during most of the concerts of the ''Generations Tour'' in 2005, and subsequently released on Sanctuary Records later the same year. This was the first Journey album where all of the band members share lead vocal duties, which Augeri later admitted in 2022 was due to his voice suffering from fatigue at the time. Jonathan Cain sings lead on "Every Generation" and "Pride of the Family" (the latter of which is only found on the Japanese edition), the first time he sang lead since "All That Really Matters" (originally a '' Frontiers'' outtake) from the '' Time3'' box set. ''Generations'' is a studio album by American jazz vibraphonist Gary Burton. The album was released on via Concord Jazz label. It features Burton with a younger band of guitarist Julian Lage, pianist Makoto Ozone, bassist James Genus and drummer Clarence Penn. Reception Dave Gelly of ''The Guardian'' stated, "A former youthful prodigy himself, Burton has been responsible for discovering and nurturing young talent throughout his long career, and he's done it again. Guitarist Julian Lage was 16 when this was recorded last September. He plays with astonishing maturity, knitting his lines into the group fabric with assurance and producing beautifully rounded solos. The title is apt, since the three main soloists represent different generations - Burton is 61 and pianist Makoto Ozone, an earlier Burton discovery, 43. Generation (Anarchic System Album)
Anarchic System was a French pop group formed in the early 1970s. The band's members were parts of other groups from the rock scene of northern France. They were in good friendship when the opportunity of recording the "Popcorn" cover was given to them by Paul de Senneville (of Delphine Records) in 1972. They were chosen because of Christian Lerouge's incredible ability in using a Minimoog. Commercial success (700,000 copies) gave the band an opportunity to release two other singles (" Carmen Brasilia" and "Royal Summer"), even before they were signed in 1973. The band's songs are mostly attributed to electronic music due to the presence of a keyboard in "Popcorn", "Carmen Brasilia" and the long version of "Generation". Holly Brook Hafermann (born February 23, 1986), known professionally as Skylar Grey, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. In 2004, Grey signed a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group and a recording contract with Linkin Park's Machine Shop Recordings under the name Holly Brook.
