''Gateways'' is a 2012 action-adventure platform game created by British indie studio Smudged Cat Games. It is a mixture of gameplay concepts from the '' Portal'' and ''Metroid'' series. Plot The player character is Ed, a scientist who must take back control of his laboratory from a band of robotic monkeys. Gameplay ''Gateways'' is a side-scrolling game in which the player controls Ed as he makes his way through his maze-like laboratory. The player is equipped with a gateway gun that functions much like the portal gun in '' Portal'', creating holes in walls, which the player can pass between. This mechanic is the basis of most of the game's puzzles. Throughout the adventure, the player will acquire additional gateway guns, featuring new abilities; by the end of the game, the player will be able to control time, gravity, and Ed's size. Abrahadabra (album)
''Abrahadabra'' is the eighth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released in 2010. The first single from the album, "Gateways", was released on 20 August in Europe and 24 August in North America. On 14 September a video for "Gateways" was released featuring front-woman, Agnete Kjølsrud. On 17 September the song "Born Treacherous" was released on Dimmu Borgir's official Myspace for streaming. On 24 September the band announced they would stream ''Abrahadabra'' in its entirety, until 7 p.m. EST that evening. This would mark the first official release of all the tracks on the album. Gateways is an international organization whose self-declared mission is it to "raise Jewish consciousness." Origins Gateways was founded in 1998 by Rabbi Mordechai Suchard with the stated goal of "providing opportunities for Jews to unlock the treasure of their heritage through dynamic educational and social programs." The organization is based in Monsey, New York, United States. It began as an American offshoot of Arachim (meaning "values"), an Israeli Judaism outreach organization founded in 1979. Harewood ( ) is a village, civil parish, former manor and ecclesiastical parish, in West Yorkshire, England, today in the metropolitan borough of the City of Leeds.
