Gaskill Brothers' Stone Store
The Gaskill Brothers Stone Store (also known as the Campo Stone Store) is a historical building in Campo, California, built in 1868 by the Gaskill brothers as a general store. It is a California Historical Landmark No. 411, listed on November 15, 1948. All goods were stocked in bulk and sold by weight as the customer wanted, except prepackaged Arbuckle Coffee and Lion Coffee. The Gaskill Brothers' Stone Store Museum is run by the Mountain Empire Historical Society. History Silas E Gaskill was born in New York on February 16, 1829. Luman H. Gaskill, the younger brother, was born in Steuben County, Indiana, on July 17, 1843. Their parents were Courtland Gaskill and Theresa Brink Gaskill. State Route 94 (SR 94) is a state highway in the U.S. state of California that is long. The western portion, known as the Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway, begins at Interstate 5 (California), Interstate 5 (I-5) in downtown San Diego and continues to the end of the freeway portion past California State Route 125, SR 125 in Spring Valley, San Diego County, California, Spring Valley. The non-freeway segment of SR 94 that continues east through the mountains to Interstate 8, I-8 near Boulevard, California, Boulevard is known as Campo Road. Casa De Cota
Casa de Cota site in San Diego, California, is a California Historical Landmark No. 75, listed on December 6, 1932. The Casa de Cota House was built by Juan Cota or Ramon Cota at what is now Twiggs Street and Congress Street. The adobe house was removed by the United States Army to make room for an Army training camp used in World War II. The training camp was temporary and the site is now a parking lot. Casa De Carrillo House
María Ygnacia López de Carrillo lived in the Carrillo House from 1821 to 1836. Casa de Carrillo House in San Diego, California, in San Diego County, is the oldest residence in San Diego. The Casa de Carrillo House was built in 1821 by Presidio of San Diego Comandante Francisco María Ruiz (1754–1839) next to the pear orchard he had planted in 1808. The adobe house was later occupied by his close relative Joaquín Carrillo and Joaquín's large family. Joaquín's daughter Josefa Carrillo scandalously eloped from the home and sailed to Chile with Henry Delano Fitch in April 1829; they were later reconciled with her father. Adobe Chapel Of The Immaculate Conception
Chapel of the Immaculate Conception in San Diego, California, is a California Historical Landmark No. 49 listed on March 6, 1935. It was built in 1850 as the adobe house of John Brown. The house was converted to a church building by Don José Aguirre in 1858. From 1866 to 1907 missionary Father Antonio D. Ubach was parish priest at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. The Works Progress Administration rebuilt the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception in 1937. The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception is located at 3950 Conde Street in Old Town, San Diego.
