"Free to Fall" is a song by American singer Debbie Harry from her second solo studio album, ''Rockbird'' (1986). It was released as the second single in the United States and the United Kingdom. Suffering from lack of record company promotion, the single failed to chart on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 or any other significant U.S. chart, and peaked at number 46 on the UK Singles Chart. The B-side to the single, "Feel the Spin", was a previous U.S. dance hit from the soundtrack to the film ''Krush Groove''. The line "...sinking in the sea of love" was used previously in a Blondie song, "Man Overboard", from the album '' Blondie'' (1976). Deborah Ann Harry (born Angela Trimble; July 1, 1945) is an American singer, songwriter and actress, best known as the lead vocalist of the band Blondie. Four of her songs with the band reached on the US charts between 1979 and 1981. Born in Miami, Florida, Harry was adopted as an infant and raised in Hawthorne, New Jersey. After attending college, she worked various jobs—as a dancer, a Playboy Bunny and a secretary (including at the BBC in New York)—before her breakthrough in the music industry. ''Blondie'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Blondie, released in December 1976 by Private Stock Records. Overview The first single " X Offender" was originally titled "Sex Offender", but since radio stations would not play a song with such a provocative title, the band renamed the song. After disappointing sales and poor publicity, the band ended their contract with Private Stock and signed with Chrysalis Records in mid 1977. Chrysalis re-released the album in September 1977, when they issued Blondie's 2nd album " Plastic Letters", along with the single " In the Flesh". The album reached No. 14 in Australia, where the band had already had a top-3 entry with "In the Flesh". Christopher Stein (born January 5, 1950) is an American musician known as the co-founder and guitarist of the new wave band Blondie. He is also a producer and performer for the classic soundtrack of the hip hop film ''Wild Style'', and writer of the soundtrack for the film '' Union City'', as well as an accomplished photographer. ''Krush Groove'' is a 1985 American musical comedy-drama film distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures that was written by Ralph Farquhar and directed by Michael Schultz (who also produced the movie, along with George Jackson and Doug McHenry). ''Rockbird'' is the second solo studio album by American singer Debbie Harry. It was released in November 1986 by Geffen Records in the United States and Chrysalis Records in the United Kingdom. Background ''Rockbird'' was released four years after the split of Blondie in 1982. Harry had largely put her music career on hold during the mid-1980s in order to look after Blondie guitarist and boyfriend Chris Stein, who had been diagnosed with a serious illness. The album was produced by Seth Justman, a key member of the J. Geils Band. Released in November 1986, there were four variations of the album artwork with the lettering in either green, orange, pink and yellow (with slight variations due to printing techniques).
