Cyprus
Cyprus ; tr, Kıbrıs (), officially the Republic of Cyprus,, , lit: Republic of Cyprus is an island country located south of the Anatolian Peninsula in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. Ioannis Kasoulides
Ioannis Kasoulides ( el, Ιωάννης Κασουλίδης; born 10 August 1948 in Nicosia, Cyprus) is a Cypriot politician, party member of DISY and current Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus. He has served in the same position from 1997 until 2003, and again from 2013 to 2018. He was member of the European Parliament from 2004 until 2013. He has held a number of political posts in Cyprus, including member of the House of Representatives of Cyprus from 1991 until 1993, and government spokesman from 1993 until 1997. Education and career Kasoulides studied medicine at the University of Lyon, and founded and served as the chairman of the Federation of Cypriot Students Unions in France. He graduated in 1974 with MD. From 1975 until 1981, he was a hospital doctor and lecturer in London. He specialised in geriatrics in London, at the London Hospital, in 1981. Nikos Christodoulides
Nikos Christodoulides (born 6 December 1973) is a Cypriot politician, who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2018 to 2022 and Spokesperson of the Government from 2014 to 2018. Prior to entering politics, he was an academic and career diplomat. Christodoulides resigned from the second Anastasiades government in January 2022 amidst speculation that he would run for President in 2023 without the blessing of his DISY party. In June, he confirmed that he would run for President as an independent and has since been endorsed by the smaller DIKO and EDEK parties. Markos Kyprianou
Markos Kyprianou ( el, Μάρκος Κυπριανού ; born 22 January 1960) is a Cypriot politician who served as a Minister of Foreign Affairs until his official resignation on 19 July 2011, following the events of the Evangelos Florakis Naval Base explosion. A member of the Democratic Party, he was formerly Cyprus's Finance Minister and the European Commissioner for Health. He tendered his resignation as Commissioner on 29 February 2008 to become Foreign Minister in the government of newly elected President Dimitris Christofias; the resignation took effect on 3 March 2008, when his successor, Androulla Vassiliou, was confirmed as Commissioner. Spyros Kyprianou
Spyros Achilleos Kyprianou ( el, Σπύρος Κυπριανού; 28 October 1932 – 12 March 2002) was one of the most prominent politicians and barristers of modern Cyprus. He served as the second president of Cyprus from 1977 to 1988. Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue ( el, Λεωφόρος Σπύρου Κυπριανού) in Nicosia was named after him posthumously. Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis ( el, Ερατώ Κοζάκου-Μαρκουλλή; born 3 August 1949) is a Cypriot politician who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus from July 2007 to March 2008 and from 5 August 2011 - 27 February 2013, as well as Minister of Communications and Works (Cyprus) from March 2010 to August 2011. Giorgos Lillikas ( el, Γιώργος Λιλλήκας; born 1 June 1960) is a Cypriot politician. Following the election of Tassos Papadopoulos as President in 2003, Lillikas became Minister of Commerce and Industry. He was subsequently the Foreign Minister from 2006 to 2007. He was an independent candidate at the 2013 Cypriot presidential election.
