The sport of football (soccer), football in Taiwan is run by the Chinese Taipei Football Association. The association administers all national football teams, as well as national competitions. Chinese Taipei Football Association
Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) is the governing body for football in the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan). Its official name in Chinese is the Republic of China Football Association, but due to the political status of Taiwan it is billed abroad as the "Chinese Taipei Football Association" and uses the English initials TPE on its badge. The CTFA organizes the men's and women's national teams and administers the territory's professional league the Taiwan Football Premier League. As members of East Asian Football Federation its national teams are eligible for the EAFF E-1 Football Championship and the country's membership in AFC allows teams to participate in that organizations club and national team competitions. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. The game occurs over the course of several plays, with each play generally beginning when a player on the fielding team, called the pitcher, throws a ball that a player on the batting team, called the batter, tries to hit with a bat. Edward Band (7 January 1886 – 22 March 1971) was an English Presbyterian missionary and schoolteacher. He spent most of his career in Taiwan, arriving in 1912 and leaving in 1940.
