This is a list article about flags that have been used in areas of Ukraine controlled by Russia or pro-Russian forces during the Russo-Ukrainian War. Donetsk People's Republic The flag of the Donetsk People's Republic is claimed by the separatist authorities to be based on the flag of Donetsk–Krivoy Rog Soviet Republic. However, there is no evidence of any such flag in 1918, and it is most likely based on '' Interdvizheniye Donbasa'', an organisation started at Donetsk University in August 1989. This flag is a variant of the flags of Russia, Slovakia and Slovenia; sporting its Pan-Slavic colors. Flags of the World (abbreviated FOTW or FotW) is an Internet-based vexillological association and resource. Its principal project is the Internet's largest website devoted to vexillology, containing comprehensive information about various flags, and an associated mailing list. The mailing list began as a discussion group in about September 1993, while the website was founded by Giuseppe Bottasini in late 1994, and Rob Raeside took over as director in 1998. Flags of the World became the 56th member of the FIAV in 2001. Luhansk People's Republic
The Luhansk or Lugansk People's Republic (russian: Луга́нская Наро́дная Респу́блика, Luganskaya Narodnaya Respublika, ; abbreviated as LPR or LNR, rus, ЛНР) is a disputed entity created by Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine, which claims Luhansk Oblast.
