Hayes Alan Jenkins
Hayes Alan Jenkins (born March 23, 1933) is an American former figure skater. He is the 1956 Olympic champion, a four-time World champion (1953–1956), and a four-time U.S. national champion (1953–1956). Personal life Jenkins was born on March 23, 1933, in Akron, Ohio, the elder brother of David Jenkins, also an American former figure skater. He attended Colorado College and Harvard Law School. He went on to work for the Goodyear tire company as an international lawyer. In 1961, Jenkins married U.S. figure skater Carol Heiss, who won silver at the 1956 Olympics and gold in 1960. The couple have three children together. Skating career In 1949, Jenkins won his first senior national medal, bronze, and placed 6th in Paris, France, at his first World Championships. László Nagy (figure Skater)
László Nagy (13 August 1927 – 19 April 2005) was a Hungarian pair skater. Together with his sister Marianna Nagy he won five bronze medals at the Olympic Games (1952 and 1956) and world championships (1950, 1953, 1955), as well as two European titles (1950 and 1955). In 1954 Nagy received his medical degree, and later for 30 years worked at a sports clinic in Budapest, being its chief physician in 1972–1987. Darío Villalba
Darío Villalba Flórez (February 22, 1939 – June 16, 2018) was a Spanish painter, photographer, and competitive figure skater. He represented Spain at the 1956 Winter Olympics where he placed 14th. Life and career Darío Villalba Flórez was born on February 22, 1939, in San Sebastián. He began skating at age 11 in Philadelphia, where his father was serving as the Spanish consul. He returned to Spain when he was 14 years old. As the only rink in Spain was small and of poor quality, his parents sent him to Chamonix, France, where he was taught by a German coach, Thea Frenssen. Tilo Gutzeit (born 27 January 1938) is a German figure skater who represented West Germany in competition. He is the 1955 German national champion. He represented the United Team of Germany at the 1956 Winter Olympics, where he placed 10th, and at the 1960 Winter Olympics, where he placed 9th. He represented the club Düsseldorfer EG in national level competition. Originally the results of the 1955 German Championships were miscalculated. Due to this Tilo Gutzeit received only the silver medal there and 12-year-old Manfred Schnelldorfer was announced as German Champion. Alain Calmat
Alain Calmat, (born 31 August 1940) is a French former competitive figure skater, surgeon, and politician. He is the 1964 Olympic silver medalist, the 1965 World champion, the 1962–1964 European champion, and the 1958 & 1962–1965 French national champion. Career Calmat attended the Cours Hattemer, a private school. He started skating at the age of nine. He won the silver medal at the French Figure Skating Championships in 1954 and would go on to win twelve medals at nationals before retiring: seven silver and five gold. He placed 9th at the 1956 Winter Olympics and won the bronze medal at the 1958 European Championships.
