Fields (band)
Fields were an Anglo-Icelandic electronic/indie band formed in London in 2006. After playing their first live shows they signed a deal with Atlantic Records, which allowed them to release through their own Black Lab Records their 2007 debut album '' Everything Last Winter'', recorded with producer Michael Beinhorn at Sun Studios in Dublin. Vocalist Nick Peill instigated most of Fields' songs. Alongside Peill, the line-up was vocalist and keyboard player Thórunn Antonía, lead guitarist Jamie Putnam, drummer Henry Spencer, and bassist Matty Derham, who later joined Does It Offend You, Yeah?. Fields played on tour with Wolfmother and Bloc Party, and on their own tour in 2007. Although recording work commenced on a follow-up album to be entitled ''Hollow Mountain'', which was intended to include the songs "Sun In Your Eyes", "Constantly", "Are You Ready Yet?", "Worst Love" and "Call The Captain", the album remains unreleased. Fields (progressive Rock Band)
Fields was an English progressive rock band formed in 1971 by drummer Andrew McCulloch, keyboardist Graham Field, and bassist-vocalist Alan Barry. McCulloch had previously been a member of King Crimson, appearing on the band's third album ''Lizard''. Field founded Rare Bird in 1968 and departed in early 1971, and Barry was a former member of The Dowlands (aka The Dowland Brothers, 1962-1963) with the Giles brothers Peter and Michael who would eventually become members of King Crimson. Fields released one album, ''Fields'', in 1971, and one single from the album, "A Friend of Mine", in 1973. They did record a second album in 1972 with ex-Supertramp bassist-vocalist Frank Farrell replacing the departed Alan Barry, but the record was shelved by CBS and not initially released. The master tapes of this album were re-mastered and released as ''Contrasts: Urban Roar to Country Peace'' in 2015, with the full involvement of Graham Field. ''Rotting Piñata'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Sponge, released on August 2, 1994 through Work Group. Hit singles from this album, such as " Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles Down the Drain)", helped launch the band's career and the album was certified gold by the RIAA in July 1995. Release ''Rotting Piñata'' is Sponge's best selling album, having sold more than 500,000 copies. Although released in August 1994, the album did not enter the ''Billboard'' 200 until February 1995, following the success of its second single "Plowed". ''Rotting Piñata'' peaked at number 58 and remained on the chart for 40 weeks. Critical reception ''Rotting Piñata'' received mostly positive reviews. Field's is a shopping centre in Ørestad, Copenhagen, close to the E20 motorway and Ørestad Station on the Copenhagen Metro. FIELDS Stores Ltd. is a Canadian discount store company owned by FHC Holdings, with 63 locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories. History The first FIELDS store was established in Vancouver in 1950 by the chain's founders, Joseph Segal and Saul "Sonny" Wosk. Fields is an unincorporated community in Harney County, Oregon, United States, located south of Burns. It is the center of commerce for local ranches and the largest community between Denio, Nevada, to the south, and Frenchglen, Oregon, to the north. The community has a single family-owned retail outlet and restaurant called Fields Station. The radius around that store has below 25 occupants. History In 1881, Charles Fields established a homestead where the community of Fields is located today. Fields built a stagecoach roadhouse to serve the stage route between Winnemucca, Nevada, and Burns. A one-room school was established at the site around 1900 with one teacher. The Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, commonly known simply as the Fields Institute, is an international centre for scientific research in mathematical sciences. It is an independent non-profit with strong ties to 20 Ontario universities, including the University of Toronto, where it occupies a purpose-built building on the St. George campus. Fields was established in 1992, and was briefly based at the University of Waterloo before relocating to Toronto in 1995. The institute is named after Canadian mathematician John Charles Fields, after whom the Fields Medal is also named.
